About this listing
You'll love it! Our place is 30 a second walk from the subway that takes you into Manhattan. We have two friendly cats, and colorful & fun decor. The neighborhood is super safe, and overflowing with independent boutiques & cafes.
Living room features TV, Playstation, and lots of DVDs and Blu-Rays to watch if you opt for quiet night indoors
This is our home, and we will most likely also be there while you are there. You'll have a private room and you'll share a bathroom.
The bed in your room is a full/double.
Waiting for you will be clean linens and extra blankets if you need them. Plenty of pillows and towels too, of course.
The room is super quiet; at the back of the apartment, facing a courtyard (not a street) and shielded by greenery.
The room isn't huge as you can see, but the rest of the apartment is open, inviting, and yours to enjoy during your entire visit.
There's shelving and a place in the closet to hang stuff up.
Details about the apartment:
This is possibly the most conveniently-located apartment in all of Cobble Hill / Boerum Hill! You'll be less than half a block away from the subway. Specifically, the F and G trains. The F train will get you to Manhattan in four stops. You can be in the West Village in less than 20 minutes!
You'll have full access to the entire apartment including the dining room table that seats four, and the comfortable living room complete with hundreds of DVD and Blu-Rays you can watch. The kitchen is yours as much as you need it - cook entire meals or just store your leftovers, whatever you prefer.
The bathroom we will share is pretty big for NYC standards (bath AND shower) and the water pressure is great. Oh, and it stays hot!
The apartment has two air conditioners (though there is NOT one inside this room). Also, heat in my building is controlled by the tenant so in winter months you're never too hot or too cold!
We keep the apartment immaculate and clutter free, so you can be guaranteed a homey but very clean space.
We have two very friendly, sweet cats that were born in February 2014. They love new people and will definitely want to be your friend. They don't bite or scratch. These aren't the kind of cats that run and hide under the bed - they are very outgoing and curious. People who like cats love ours! If you don't like cats, our place may not be a good fit for you.
Our guests have full access to the entire apartment. Feel free to cook meals in the kitchen or just store leftovers, that's fine too. You can hang out in the living room/dining room area, too - both when we're there and when we're not - we'll want you to fully make yourselves at home!
Interaction with Guests
We tend to follow your lead - if you want to do your own thing, no problem. If you want to sit down and share a cup of tea and chat, that's fine too!
My husband and I are very heavy sleepers. You can make as much noise as you want to, or come home late, wake up early, etc- we will not mind and probably won't even hear it.
Our apartment is on the border of Boerum Hill and Cobble Hill, which gives you instant access to all the great shopping, bars and restaurants along Smith Street and Court Street. Enjoy brunch on the weekends, enticing happy hours on weekday evenings, stores that sell handmade pillows, one of a kind greeting cards, candles, comfy shoes, jewelry, and more. There's even a specialty DVD rental store.
If you're bringing a car, it's pretty easy (for NYC anyway) to find street parking. Plus, there are plenty of lots nearby.
If you're looking for a little glitz and glamour during your visit, keep your eyes pealed for Allesandro Nivola, Keri Russell, Hope Davis, Tony Shalhoub, Ethan Hawke and more - they all live in the neighborhood!
You could not imagine an apartment more conveniently located to the subway. People love this the most about our place. There is no chance of getting lost, and you are "home" the second you step off the train!
Other Things to Note
The apartment is on the third floor. This means there are two small flights of stairs (the ground floor / street level is floor one).
No smoking in the apartment, please.
I'll ask that you be very quiet in the hallways since I live in a very small building with only two other tenants and it's important they not be disturbed.
