Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Our tree-house, built by Pete Nelson of Treehouse Masters, aired as the African Safari Hut. The professionally designed interior is filled with African artifacts. It was designed to be a writer's cottage for Skeeter who is an author and an African historian. Skeeter and Jacque love having guests stay at the treehouse, especially writers and artists looking for a retreat to work on their craft.

With few exceptions, the treehouse is available for stays of 2 to 5 days.

The space
The treehouse is fully private for the guests during their reservation, this space isn't very large but has all the comfort and amenities you would need for a weekend getaway in the trees!

***Please note, some may find it challenging to go up and down the somewhat steep pathway to the treehouse, as well as the spiral staircase to reach the treehouse.***

Upon entry you will see the custom shaped comfortable bed that is in-between a queen and a king size with plenty of pillows to find your perfect comfort. There is a small kitchenette to the left upon entry with a Keurig, microwave, and mini-fridge filled with drinks and snacks to welcome you. On the right side a desk with a chair perfect for working from home or writing a book. There is an open closet/storage space next to the kitchenette where you will find a space heater, AC for the hot months, a hand washing station, a bin with extra kitchen items and more!

There is a full shower and toilet in a separate building next to/below the treehouse for your private use, go down the spiral steps from the treehouse and it is to the bottom left of the treehouse. It has it's own heating, has a large walk-in shower, toilet, vanity, plenty of fresh towels and two bathrobes for your use.

Guest access
Guests have access to the private Tree-house and private shower/bathroom, they also have access to the small gazebo by the bathroom that has games and loungers. Guests are welcome to walk on the pathway surrounding the wooded property, and are welcome to use the firepit area (firepit use is allowed as long as a fire ban is not in effect), in this area we also have a BBQ grill you are welcome to use. Free one car parking on property.

Other things to note
There will be some drinks and some food snack options in the refrigerator.

The water in the Keurig is fresh; help yourself to coffee from any of the selections in the top shelf of the three tier basket-shelf under the counter.

Silverware and extra cups are also located in a container under the sink.

The water dispenser, by the door, has both hot and cold water. Careful! The hot water is, surprisingly enough, hot.

There is a beautiful private shower and toilet building for guests to use right by treehouse (not in the same building).

The small garden center gazebo located next to the treehouse is free for you to use.

NOISE WARNING: Our property is located one mile from a racetrack. In the summertime, during race days it can get noisy. Usually, the races are over by 10pm.

Neighborhood highlights

We live on a private dead-end road. It is wooded which gives it a rural feel.

NOISE WARNING: Our property is located one mile from a racetrack. In the summertime, during race days it can get noisy. Usually, the races are over by 10pm.
Also, please note we are located on the countryside, our neighbors right behind the treehouse have a farm, you will hear and see sheep, chickens, and guard dogs that may bark when new guests arrive (they are simply during their job). We love and respect our neighbors and ask you to do the same. If you are looking for complete quiet during your stay, this may not be the best fit for you.

My work: Author/photographer
I spend too much time: Writing and Erasing and Writing and ....
I write African historical fiction. I grew up in Africa and did my post graduate research among the Gikuyu people in Kenya. My wife and I often travel to Africa and we take guests to East Africa on historical/safari tours once a year. We were married at Treehouse Point and were excited to have our own tree house built for us by the owner, Pete Nelson. The tree-house is technically my "writer's nook" but it is fast becoming a guest house.
