In the heart of West Bridgford this is a light, modern luxurious 2 bed flat with Victorian features such as high ceilings and coving.
Fully equipped for a very comfortable stay.
Parking right outside the front door, and unlimited wifi.
This space has high ceilings and large windows, fully double glazed, and centrally heated, so it is warm and light.
This flat has a double bedroom and a single which can be used as an office instead depending on what guests would prefer. I have a cot and a single bed for the 2nd room which can be interchanged, and I can provide a high chair if necessary.
Guests will be able to park their car right outside the front door and log into the free unlimited wifi during their stay.
Interaction with Guests
I live just 2 minutes from the flat so I can be on hand for anything that guests need. I am very quick on the phone so I will be quick to fix anything or provide help for guests.
My neighbourhood is very friendly, and there is a lot going on, but it is also quiet. So when Trent Bridge Cricket Club has The Ashes, which is about 2 minutes walk away, things get very busy, but other than that we have lots going on about 5 minutes walk away on Central Avenue.
West Bridgford has lots to offer, depending on what you’re after!
Grab a bite, drink, & evening entertainment...Head down to Central Avenue and there is no end in choice of places to eat, whether it be for a bite, a drink, or something more substantial. There are cafés and bars where service continues all day and into the evening, such as Belle & Jerome, or Copper Bar Café (including yummy breakfast/brunch!). You’ll often find people relaxing on the chairs outside (when the sun shows itself!). Equally, there is Fire & Ice, The Monkey Tree and The Oriental Pearl/Pearl Bar which transform into a vibrant social scene during the evening.
There is always the option of beginning your night in West Bridgford and then catching a bus, outside Fire & Ice, for example, into Nottingham where you can explore the nightlife further. If you fancy a calmer evening, West Bridgford has a number of restaurants to offer. What do you fancy? Something laid back and tasty? Head to Pizza Express or Mud Crab, with a mixture of Australian and American influences behind the menu: you can’t miss it – the impressive glass building on Central Avenue. Carluccio's has also just arrived in West Bridgford! Perhaps you fancy tapas? Head to escabeche, situated opposite Pizza Express.
Alternatively, head to the opposite end of Central Avenue, towards Trent Bridge and you’ll find The Larwood & Voce, or The Riverbank Bar & Kitchen – exceptional food food and again, should you fancy it, evening entertainment.
Or fancy a night in? There are plenty of takeaway options: Rectory Fish Bar does especially delicious Fish and Chips.
If you feel like cooking, there are a number of food shops, including Marks & Spencer, or even closer to you, the good-old reliable Co-op, and for a treat later, pop into Thorntons for all your ‘sweet-tooth’ cravings!
Wander around the shops…If shopping is your forte, West Bridgford has a number of unique shops which you can’t find anywhere else! Drop into Delights for a range of gifts – or treat yourself – why not! There are also some clothing stores, including footwear shops, all close-by to Central Avenue. Also, for all your daily health and pharmacy needs, there’s Boots, for book-lovers there are book shops, for a bargain, there are charity shops and if you are in need of some pampering, an array of salons to choose from.
Sport...You’re in luck. West Bridgford is host to Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. Or if football is more your thing, there’s both Nottingham Forest Football Club AND Notts County Football Club at your doorstep.
Fitness...Outdoors or indoors, there are a number of places you can go – whether for something gentle, or something to really get you heart pumping.
•Holme Pierrepont – including water rapids, canoeing and other exciting outdoor activities.
•West Bridgford Park – including tennis courts, or for a gentle stroll. There are also pretty gardens and a play area for children.
•River walk along the embankment. Cross the ‘rickety rackety’ bridge – but don’t look down!!
•Rushcliffe Arena (without swimming pool).
•David Lloyd Leisure, Roko Health clubs (both with pools).
On offer at all clubs such as these are games such as badminton, squash and so on (book your court beforehand).
If you happen to go to any of the local places, feel free to mention that we recommended them! That way we can continue to work together with local businesses in supporting each other! ☺
Further afield...Head into Nottingham and there is plenty more to choose from, again, depending on what you feel like – shopping, cinema, clubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, tenpin bowling, and so on – and easily accessible by bus, or there are car parks if you’d prefer to drive.
Hopefully this information has been helpful. If you have any other queries regarding anything during your stay please do get in contact and we’ll be happy to help in any way we can! ☺
With that said, there’s one final thing to say… ENJOY!!
Excellent transport links. It takes only 5-10 minutes to reach the centre of Nottingham by bus with buses being very regular. 'Green line' buses - numbers (phone number hidden), and 11, will take you to and from Nottingham city, via Trent Bridge and the Train Station. You can find all timetables for these, and the option to plan your route, at the nctx website.
Nottingham Railway station is 5 minutes on the bus which stops right outside and takes you to London, East Midlands Parkway (for EMA Airport) and further north too.
Other Things to Note
Our buses have the oddity of taking correct change only! Save your change for them - they are well worth it , very frequent and handy but get expensive if you keep having to use notes! £2.00 one way, £3.50 day ticket and sometimes - like weekend and holidays, you can get cheap day family tickets for 2 adults and 2 kids for as little as £4.50.
No Smoking please.
Be respectful to the neighbours, this is a residential area.
Katie came to visit a couple of days after moving and was good to meet her and have a chat. It was a very nice area and only a few minutes walk onto the Avenue which was lovely.
Amanda, thanks for pointing us towards the bathroom ventilation problem. We have an electrician increasing the power on the extractor fan as I type and I am sure that this will fix the bathroom dampness/ I really appreciate your help in pointing this out so that we can stay ahead of the maintenance before it becomes a bigger problem.ALl the best,
Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour. L appartement était identique aux photographies très moderne et avec beaucoup d équipement. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la proximité des arrête de bus, du stade de cricket, stade de football ainsi que des restaurants et magasins. Tous était accessible a pied !! Notre hôte Katie a était réactive et disponible!!! Merci pour ce séjour magnifique
What a great introduction to airbnb. Katie is a fantastic and friendly host.
I was able to arrange the booking very last minute, and although this meant Katie needed to make some special arrangements to accommodate the booking she was helpful throughout, and even bought me the keys to a local bar where I was sitting enjoying a drink in the sunshine
The apartment is in a great location, you can see Trent Bridge Cricket ground from outside, it's a couple of minute walk from the shops, bars and restaurants in the lovely West Bridgford.
The apartment itself appears brand new, and although small is everything you need for a short stay in the Nottingham area.

I'm a Londoner in Nottingham - it's a fabulous place. It's the theatre that I love, and being in the middle of a community full of precious gems, characters and fun.
I like to make sure that people enjoy their stay & get as much help as they want from me, if that's lots of local guidance about outdoor amenities and restaurants and entertainment and I recognise that some people just want to come away and relax on their own.
I have enjoyed helping people with ideas for cooking in or for eating out, for local walks and bike rides and for helping people to settle into the area when they are relocating.
