  • The Place: This apartment has an amazing location. It is literally steps fromt he Colosseum, the Forum and the Palentine Hill, yet it is in a trendy, local neighborhood. The apartment is huge and looks identical to the pictures. As stated in other reviews, there is an amazing book and music collection and the piano is fairly well-tuned. The room overlooking Via Baccina can be a little noisy at night, but the other rooms are nice and quiet. If you want access to the tourist spots but to hang with the locals, this apartment is perfect. There is a great breakfast spot just in the square with excellent juice and great tunes.

The Host: Gian is a young, hip and cool guy. He waited for us at the apartment, even though our train was late and let us check out late on the last day. He speaks great English and was easy to reach by phone when we were in Italy. Also, he provided a map of Rome and made sure to orient us and get us started in the right direction for walking and public transportation. He even gave me some great routes to run while in the city.

Tips: Although there is a shower head, the hose is a bit short so you'll need to relax in the tub while showering. The water pressure is great! There is a restaurant named "Wanted" just by the square on the way to the Colosseum. The name is terrible, but the food is great! I highly recommend their homemade pasta, the one with sage butter is A-MA-ZING!

  • Perfect place, ideal position for all the walking around Rome. Gian was helpful and there was no problem meeting him and getting the keys. The apartment needs a bit of cleaning especially the furniture, the carpets, the bathroom is not very "friendly", the water is all around after you take a shower and there is no draining on the floor. There is no wi-fi. But still these are minor things so generally it is a good place to stay while in Rome.

  • What a great apartment in a very comfortable atmosphere, featuring lot of vintage furniture and a C. Bechstein piano. It is located right next to the Madonna dei Monti fountain, the wonderful Alimentari Polica Carlo (Via dei Serpenti) and in walking distance to a grocery store having everything you could wish for. The restaurant "Urbana47" is worth a visit as well. We experienced an all-round package... only missing one tiny thing: a cheese grater for our Pasta Cacio e Pepe, but apart from that... Thank you, Gian, for making everything work out that well. I can honestly recomment this place!

  • We had a great stay at Gians appartment! It is just perfectly located for every purpose! Its is close to almost every site (very close to colosseum, paltin and walking distance to vatican, Fontana di Trevi, spanish steps, central station etc). There are lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. We liked that the area is not as touristic as the spanish stepts area for example so you re close to the italian lifestyle. During the night it was quiet.
Gian was very friendly and welcoming.

  • Lovely apartement, very spacious and great location on a quiet street. Gian was very accomodating. I hope to return to this apartment in Monti.

  • The apartment is absolutely fabulous and incredibly well located, literally 5 min from the Coliseo. The neighbourhood is very lively, with plenty of bars and restaurants around and pretty much off the beaten track. The apartment was pretty easy to find and very convenient for those arriving from Termini. Communication with Gian wasn't great but in the end we didn't have any problems.
