The apartment is amazingly furnished, exactly like in the pictures. We loved it! It was a bit dark though due to the fact, that the windows are facing the atrium, not the street. But this is pretty normal in Barcelona.
There is a lot of nice cafes and restaurants just a few steps away, the metro station is also pretty close. We had a really great stay.
Lindo apartamento. Mejor situado imposible. Glaenzel nos recibió muy calurosamente y estuvo siempre disponible para cualquier pregunta o consejo.
The location of this flat is the real drawcard. It is in the middle of El Born and very easy to get around. The flat itself is small with not much natural light, but if you are just using it for a few day and exploring the city then it suits. Its nicely decorated and the furniture is in good condition. The flat was clean and organising the keys and check out was really easy. Be sure to read the house rules. We were hoping to arrive to the flat before 8 but due to delayed flight we didn't and there is a late check-in fee, which I didn't see until after booking, but Monica warned us beforehand. Having said this they were very flexible allowing us to leave later which was appreciated! thank you!
Couldn't ask for a better (email hidden)ean, cute, and good amount of space for a couple.
For the first two months of 2015 I lived in the small apartment in this little alleywall right in the middle of El Born. First of all, Mónica Glaenzel was a great host and she always responded on my complaints. The district El Born itself is stunning and from the apartment you have direct access to downtown Barcelona such as Barri Gotic, the beach at Barceloneta and of course to the very close Ciutadella Park (great for short runs, long runs rather at the beach). The closest Metro station is Jaume I. Arc de Triumf is quite close as well (12 min). To the downside of the apartment: It is very dark during the day since there are no windows beside the glass front to the inner patio (see other comments, e.g. Alex mentioned it before). Also, it is quite loud within the inner court if there are people outside. As others I had problems with the Orange Internet as well (very slow, no Skype possible). Mónica asked for a Movistar technician and he found out that one of the internet cables wasn't connected. Afterwards there was an adequate internet connection of about 2 Mbit/s.
Unfortunately, I had to make the experience that there were construction works in the little bar/market area just below and the workers sometimes even started at 6 am with percussion drills. They just worked in the mornings for the whole the months since in the afternoons the bars were open again. This was quite annoying but Mónica Glaenzel wasn't informed and she tried but couldn't do anything about it. The owner of this bar/market area is to blaim. Mindfully, Mónica paid a little refund. So all in all I spent a little over 2000 Euro for the apartement for two months, which seems a lot given the size and the characteristic of it (no view on the streets or plazas). If you're just staying for a short-time period I think you will be fine since during the day most people are outside. For a long-term stay I would reconsider my options. I can definetly recommend Mónica Glaenzel as a host.
The apartment was delightful! The location is perfect. Glaenzel was a perfect host. We look forward to booking this unit on subsequent trips to Barcelona.
