The Tompeca Cottage is a rustic post and beam structure furnished with many antiques and collectibles. Located in a quiet, rural setting and is excellent as base for biking, hiking, skiing and cross country skiing.

The space

The Tompeca Cottage is a converted carriage house of post and beam construction. It has two bedrooms, one with queen bed, the other with two twin beds as well as a fold-out couch that could sleep another two guests . There is a private bath, kitchen, and oak bar and furnished in antiques and bric-a-brac. It is very cozy and located in a quiet, rural area. Master bedroom is air conditioned. Pet friendly. Can also accommodate horses in our three stall barn. Great area for cross country skiing, snow shoeing, bicycling and horseback riding. Conway, New Hampshire is only 10 mile drive. Stone Mountain Arts Center two miles away. There are numerous restaurants within a 10 minute drive and grocery store about 15 minutes away. During the summer and early fall guests can help themselves to produce -- corn, tomatoes, beans, cukes, etc --. from our organic garden. The Brownfield Bog Wildlife Preserve is just 10 minutes away and is a great place for canoeing and kayaking in a magical place surrounded by the White Mountains and filled with a vast array of wildlife including moose. We also seem to be located in an area that is prime owl habitat for we hear many different hoots through the year coming from the surrounding forests. If you like quiet rural settings with lots of opportunity for outdoor activities then this is a great place for your vacation or getaway. Excellent road and mountain biking; canoeing on the Saco river; kayaking in the Brownfield Bog Wildlife Reserve and hiking trails all around us.

This rustic cottage is a unique place. You can tell this place has a history, and once you open up the visitor logs in the mantle, you begin to get an idea of the fun times people have shared here. Very clean, quiet, great shower, and easy communication with the host. Filled with lots of unique touches, interesting books laying about, games to play. We enjoyed playing darts and exploring the short hike on the nearby ridge. It's a little bit remote in location, but we didn't mind the short drive to get to the nearby White Mountains for hiking. We were grateful to find some peaceful times at this Tompeca Cottage.

It is a quaint little cabin that provides privacy in a quiet setting. The cabin has a very interesting feel to it, with very old decorations that make it very unique. It has great value for the price. If you are in the area (i.e Fryeburg, North Conway), I would definitely recommend a stay.

What a place! The decor has very interesting history behind it. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. Kevin and Theresa are very friendly hosts. We enjoyed the trails nearby and the fresh blueberries we picked ourselves.

Great little space that has all of the amenities and functions of a larger place. Was very cozy and comfortable. The neighborhood/area is beautiful and we enjoyed hiking on the properties trail and local trails within walking distance. The house and area is very relaxing and has a true country feeling which can be hard to find these days! Will definitely look to come back. Maybe for snow shoeing:)
