The space

Our fabulous penthouse was completed recently and still looks and feels new. With double aspect cathedral windows looking out over the Val d'Anniviers for sun-peaked mountain views at breakfast right through to crisp linen and vintage blankets at bedtime, we've tried to think of everything for a real home from home.

With 5 bedrooms (2 double, 2 twin, 1 bunk), 2 bathrooms + loo, a mezzanine chill-out/media area and open plan kitchen/living area, there's plenty of space for extended families and friends. Underfloor heating throughout and a woodburner ensure you are warm and cosy in the winter months, while wide opening picture windows and french doors to the balcony ensure fresh Alpine breezes in the warmer season.

Grimentz is a picture-postcard perfect Swiss village at 1650 metres, served by two telecabine lifts from the village to the start of the ski areas, so there is no ugly infrastructure to spoil the view. The skiing is north-facing, high, and snow sure. A high-speed gondola opened for the 2013/14 season taking visitors to the top of the neighbouring resort, Zinal, effectively doubling the lift-served ski area. The off-piste opportunities in the area are legendary, and we can recommend a guide to ensure you get the most out of the area and stay safe.

Ski-in for most of the season and we are just a few steps away from the telecabine in the morning. Out of the ski season, classic hiking routes and (lift-served) mountain biking start right outside our door. Outdoor swimming pool in Vissoie and indoor pool in Zinal (15 minutes away) and swimming lakes at Sierre and Sion (30/40 minutes). There is a Via Ferrata and small climbing wall in the village, a 'squirrel run'/high ropes course with zipwires in St Luc, and bungy jumping further down the valley.

And after all that fresh air and activity, we are very near Bar Florioz, the most popular après-ski venue in town, for drinks and light snacks!

We live in England but have a marvellous chalet services company to help you with your every need. Feel free though to call or email us if you need any further information or assistance when there.
PLEASE NOTE however that emails from them invariably go to the spam inbox of forthcoming guests, so you need to add them to your address book or check your spam after you book. They are extremely efficient and will contact you to obtain arrival time/check-in instructions/number of beds needed etc. If you do not hear from them within days of booking, please ensure that you email or telephone them asap.
The double beds are king-sized. If you are bringing your own fitted sheets, the mattresses are very deep (approximately 30 cm) so need large sheets.
In common with most homes in the mountains, we leave our outdoor footwear at the door. Please do likewise.
Please park in our designated spaces only - if you find others using them please phone Dave and Ali.
There are various rules relating to the building posted on the notice board in the hall. We would like our guests to respect our neighbours and abide by the requirements.
Please recycle and respect the environment! We provide plastic buckets (on the balcony) to enable you to sort your waste and carry it to the rubbish/recycling points.
Please conserve resources for the good of the planet! - please keep the room thermostats at a reasonable temperature - the second mark is 20 degrees and will be plenty warm enough in the bedrooms. If you are too warm, please turn the heating down rather than opening the window.
Please be mindful of your hot water use and do not leave hot taps running or run unnecessary baths.
To put into context, last year our apartment was single-handedly responsible for a shocking one-third of the consumption of the hot water for the entire building (14 apartments) and we are anxious that should not happen again.

This delightful apartment was everything we hope for. Communication with the owner and manager was easy and efficient. The apartment has character, is extremely comfortable and feels very homely, with warm touches not often found in catered accommodation. The kitchen is very well equipped and beds are excellent. Smart TV and a huge collection of books were great for wet days! Grimentz is charming, with facilities for all the family. We highly recommend the apartment and location.

We were at this amazing resident for two weeks. There is nothing bad you can even think of this lovely place. Everything's so clean and tidy, we did not lack anything. It was like we moved to another country with our own home. Thanks a holding company that took care of us more than we ever get in any hotel ever. We have two wonderful weeks at The most beautiful place in the world and in the most luxurious resident we ever met. Thank you Anne Dave and Ali for a fantastic and a wonderful holiday in Swiss.

Grimentz est un merveilleux endroit pour rayonner dans le val d’Annivier. De nombreuses randonnées sont possibles directement à partir du chalet ou des villages proches. De plus, une carte a été fournie à chacun permettant l’utilisation gratuite des remontées mécaniques et des bus dans la vallée. L’appartement est grand, lumineux et très bien équipé. Il est situé à proximité du village et des remontées mécaniques. Le service de conciergerie était efficace.
