I am a full time nurse who loves to go out on weekends and on some evenings as well. I can be as helpful as you need me to while leaving you to enjoy the place all by yourself. There's a lot of information about public transportation, nearby restaurants, bars and delivery places available.
Rainey Street is the best neighborhood in Austin. You are in downtown and surrounded by the coolest bars in town. You're also right by the lake with 12 miles to walk or bike. You can bike ( there's a guest bike available for you), ride the metro, or drive. You are right next to Interstate 35 and 5 minutes to both Mopac expressway, 290 and 77 the main highways cutting through Austin. Airport is only 15 minutes away and the shuttle service is only $17. Easy access anywhere.
In addition, this is the area with the very best and coolest bars in town. And the apartment complex is just jaw-dropping! Quiet, super-safe, clean, beautiful, meticulously maintained, etc.
The public bus system runs a few blocks from the apartment complex. Shuttle service from/to the airport will cost you $17/person each way. If you're 2, a cab should be around $25 + tip. Lastly if Im in town and not working a shift and you're not arriving late hours it would be a pleasure to pick you up at the airport to get you acquainted with the neighborhood.
The building prohibits parties and smoking in the units. Unfortunately pets can't stay in the apt due to hefty pet deposit fees required by the management.
My ideal guest is someone who will treat the apartment as their own :-)
We appreciated Nicky's hospitality - not only did she take the time to orient us to the neighborhood and apartment space, but also checked in with us periodically throughout the weekend. The apartment's location is great - not only do you have easy access to walking along the river, but the place is situated where you can easily walk to a number of fun bars and restaurants. It's an especially excellent space to stay at if you know that you'll be out for most of the day and want a comfortable place to crash at night.
The listing is just as wonderful in person as it is in the pictures. This was the first time I used Airbnb and wanted to stay somewhere close to the Austin food and wine festival and I could not have picked a better location or better host. The check-in and check-out process was extremely smooth and Nicky was so easy to communicate with. As a first time visitor to Austin I really appreciated the fact that Nicky was able to show me around. Having a host that was available if I needed anything but also gave me the option and tools to explore the city on my own was great for me. She is a great person to get to know and a very kind and accommodating hostess. Not only does her place have stunning views but it is close to so many things. I had a wonderful first visit to Austin. Great place to stay.
It was one of my most enjoyable experiences. The place was neat, clean and very tastefully decorated. The place is so conveniently located and with great views of the river, trails and more.
Nicky is an absolutely wonderful host. She not only paid attention to the needs of the visitor (me) to feel at home and welcome, but made sure I had all the information about the goings on in Austin with detailed description on how to get there. She had plenty of suggestions for various activities - music, eating, etc. To top it, she offered and drove me to the airport!
Overall experience: A+.
Nicky proved to be a great host for my first ever Airbnb experience! She has got a great apartment with nice view, as mentioned in the description, in one of the most happening areas of Austin. Also, she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable, showing places around Austin and even being kind enough to bring me a take-out from one of the good Indian places in Austin! I highly recommend Nicky's place and will whole heartedly stay at her place again, if I ever stop by Austin.
I was immediately made to feel welcome at Nicky's place. She had food in the fridge, a number of fresh towels in the bathroom and a great selection of tourist information available. Nicky invited me out to one of Austin's best craft beer places and I definitely felt at ease staying in her place.
It was a very easy to get to with a cab from the airport costing $30 including tip. The area is brilliant and I was able to walk around most of the city without much trouble. Rainey Street itself has some great bars which are very relaxed and a great place to grab a bite to eat.
I used the bikes a few times and they are suitable for getting around on the nearby lake pathway as well as through downtown. Having access to a bike meant I was able to get by without feeling like I needed a car.
I would happily stay in this place again and have already recommended it to a friend who is thinking of coming to Austin

About the Host, Nicky
I am an avid traveller who loves to look at World maps and dream about the next destination:-) Have been to over 40 countries. Nothing compares to the excitement and newness of arriving in a remote town! Pushker in India, Aswan in Egypt, Lombok in Indonesia and Kathmandu in Nepal are my favorite destinations:-) Can't live without travelling, good food and good companion!
While back home yes, I work hard and long hours in Health Care. When back home I love to visit friends around the country and make home as comfortable and cosy. Love movies, checking out new bars, restaurants and hosting! Hosting allows me to travel through my guests.
