East Flatbush also called the Caribbean Flatbush is a very cool, lively and diverse neighborhood. There is a lot to see and discover in Brooklyn. Yes, Brooklyn has a lot to offer and we are just 10 min away from beautiful Prospect Park.
Mostly populated with Italian, Irish, Jewish, and African-American families before the 1980s, the recent arrival of Caribbean and African immigrants has added to Flatbush’s ethnic diversity profile. Haitians, Jamaicans, Guyanese, Barbadian, Trinidadian, Belizean, Nigerian, and Kenyan families now reside in this primarily working and middle class Brooklyn community. Brick apartment buildings, single family Victorian houses, brownstones and even some co-ops are the focus of the real estate market in Flatbush. Potential renters/buyers are often charmed by Flatbush’s affordability, great shopping, restaurants and cafés and proximity to Prospect Park and Brighton Beach, while Brooklyn College adds to area’s intellectual sphere. The neighborhood's eponymous commercial main street, Flatbush Avenue, goes from the Manhattan Bridge on the North to the Gil Hodges Marine Parkway Bridge leading to the Rockaway Peninsula section of Queens on the South. Also Church Avenue has great shopping, food and 24 hour grocery options.

The apartment was clean, and the neighborhood was very quiet - I stayed with my sister, and the apartment was big enough for us to each have a bit of privacy.
