  • Donna gave us a warm welcome when we decided to stay with her last minute at midnight!
The room was large and comfortable with a fridge and some candy! We had the bathroom to ourselves which was clean and stocked with necessities. The breakfast was great and it was lovely to get to know Donna and her husband while watching the birds and squirrels on the deck outside.
    Thanks!

  • The room was as pictured and very comfortable and clean. Donna is very accommodating and was lovely enough to give me a quick ride to where I needed to be at the nearby arboretum!

  • Donna, Dick and Adrienne were wonderful! They were accommodating and helpful with ideas on things to do around Philly and PA in general. The breakfast was nice and the blue room was comfy.

  • This was our first abnb experience. We were a little surprised that Donna was not available when we arrived and was away for part of our stay. In fact no one was at the house when we arrived. A heads up would have been nice and we are flexible people but we probably could have planned better knowing that bit of info. We would have considered this when purchasing the spot since we haven’t been to Philly before and needed some navigation guidance. She did however have a friend help out who was really friendly. The only downside was that the friend was not very familiar on how to get around in the city, or anything about the city or neighborhood we were in really, so it made our first day really tough. We missed several concerts in the city because we couldn't get a taxi and the train station schedule was confusing. Donna tried to help via phone but it was still a bit tough so we decided to drive in which was really easy and would have been the best option all along. The location itself was very clean and just like the pictures. Bed was super comfy and there was a fridge in the room which was fantastic! Breakfast was lovely + had many options. The other guests were quiet and we felt very comfortable. There were plenty of supplies in the shared bathroom! Not too bad for our first stay! Thank you Donna!

    Response from Donna:

We are really sorry about the confusion and not being there for part of your stay. We had planned a trip to Florida many months in advance and wanted to be able to accommodate you for the weekend of the concert. Normally when we are planning on being away we just close the B&B for the weekend but we knew accommodations would be hard to come by because of the concert and wanted to try to accommodate you. It is very unusually that we are not there for our guests. We are glad that you did end up having a good time and that you enjoyed your stay here. We hope next time you are in Philly you'll think of us again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Pilgrim's Rest. Donna and her husband were so friendly and wonderful hosts. The room was large and the bed very comfortable -- and the breakfast was delicious. They're in a beautiful location in northern Philadelphia.

  • Excellent accommodation, exactly as described, with outstanding hosts who make guests feel very much at home. Note that this is a true B&B with breakfast (that included, for our visit, homemade baked goods). A+

  • We found our room exactly as it was shown in the picture, in a comfortable, clean house. Comfortable bed, comfortable sized room and generous continental breakfast. Friendly and attentive hosts. A commodius deck behind the kitchen overlooks the woods of beautiful Fairmont Park and the wide variety of birds visiting the feeders near the deck. Bathroom is shared.
