and 300-400 metres to the Metro Bus stop by St Martins Supermarket (runs every 30 minutes in to central bus depot).
The centre of Christchurch is only about 3 KM (walkable)

at all times called Super Shuttle
It is a door to door service cost approx $40 for 2 people (this includes recent airport tax)
or if arriving during the day you can catch Metro Bus in to town then number 17 bus to St martins supermarket we are then about 300 meters to walk.
cost for 2 buses would total around $10 each

In the area, there are plenty of lovely cafes within walking distance, and some good restaurants a bit further away.
The nearby river and hills make for great walks. 50 minutes walking will reward you with outstanding views over Lytttleton Harbours beautiful bays.
Our new supermarket is now open, one of the best in Christchurch with fabulous selection of food, wine and beer, is only 5 minute walk away.
Our favourite places to visit are Sumner Beach, Lyttleton, the Port Hills, the Tannery Emporium and Central city including Restart Mall gardens etc . There are some fabulous farmers markets close by open at the weekends (the fabulous Riccarton Bush market open sat mornings is an Orbiter Bus ride away)
and If you are keen on music you will always find somewhere with live Music
The new Colombo shopping centre is 3 km away and colombo street takeaway places and restaurants 1 - 2 Km.
We may be able to loan you a bike to help get around.
Although Christchurch has been battered by the earthquake, it is an interesting place to come. Being the gateway to the beautiful South Island, there are many places nearby that are well worth a day trip to.
We may also be able to help you sort out transport if required and are more than happy to direct you to some of Christchurch's more quirky places.
We are rather relaxed casual people and enjoy meeting new people. We also use Airbnb when looking for accommodation for our trips to Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
We have a cat so we hope you like animals.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
UPDATE Our house has recently been repainted on the inside so the rooms look slightly different to photos
IMPORTANT This is our family home.
We need to feel comfortable about the people we accept to stay with us.
This service relies on trust by both parties. SO we are not accepting requests from people without photos and information about themselves. I hope you understand.
Bedroom, bathroom with separate shower and bath . Separate toilet. Kitchen for light cooking in evening. Large tree lined lawn and patio.
Interaction with Guests
We love meeting people and often have time to chat or sometimes go on outings (beach, gig etc ) with our guests.
But you can have private space too.
Our neighbourhood is rather quiet compared to lots in Chch but still pretty close to town and entertainment.
Being close to the hills and river great for walking.
Bus stop to bus exchange is 5 minute walk.
Orbiter bus stops are even closer.
Very flat for easy walking and cycling.
But NZ is a small country and our transport is not anything like big European cities. Cars are great for exploring NZ.
For coming from the airport there is one company that runs door to door shuttle service for around $40. We may be able to arrange ride to airport for $25
There is also city buses that go to centre then catch no 17 bus to St Martins or you can catch no 17 bus direct from near ish to airport on Wairakei road orMemorial avenue. I have put photo of where bus route goes near the airport for direct bus.

Christine and Steve are very friendly and warm people which made us feel like at home immediately. They gave us great advice about all kinds of activities in and around Christchurch, otherwise we should have missed the lovely farmers market at Riccarton.
The bedroom is cozy with a comfortable bed. They let us use their spacious living room and kitchen. The house is well situated in a quit part of Christchurch though close to a supermarket, several restaurants en the city center.
Christine and Steve are the nicest people and they made my stay one to remember. Place feels like home and there is really nothing anyone can complain about. I really enjoyed my stay and would come back again when i have the chance.
Christine and Steve are the perfect hosts. We felt like being part of the family. The shared their two living rooms with us and we could use the kitchen at all times.
They gave us some great trip advice which resulted in one of the best activities so far in NZ- Hiking Cave Stream (for which they even gave us their gear).
We definitely recommend them. We would love to come back next time we are in Christchurch!
We sincerely thank you for your hospitality, your concern and for your generosity to give us useful information. Christine, thank you to have booked the shuttle for us! We enjoyed our stay in Christchurch and the surrounding area. We hope your city regains its integrity, elegance and vivacity as quickly as possible.

Warm and friendly hosts. Great first time using airbnb. The cat was adorable. Thank you and appreciated the great advise.
Christine and her husband were freaking awesome! They saved our butts when our car broke down and let us use the kitchen to make dinners, and their cat, Muffin, is a sweetie pie. Shower there is awesome and they have the fastest wifi speed we had found anywhere in Christchurch.
