  • Diane is a wonderful host. She has a great knowledge of the area, and is more than happy to give advice about the area, or mind her own business, and give you space.

The room itself is lovely, as well. It's spacious, well-lit, and very comfortable.

She cooks a delicious breakfast, as well, that's a great way to start the day.

Definitely stay with Diane if you're in the DC area!

  • Diane's "Home Away from Home" was exactly that. A pleasant host, I enjoyed both the time we spent talking as well as the quiet time I spent in the room, which was plenty large and well equipped. The bed slept great and Diane's attention to detail was as if I was staying at a B&B. As my first airbnb experience, this was an experience that will both have me back at Diane's as well as explore airbnb for future trips.

  • Diane was a gracious and friendly hostess. The master bedroom suite she offers is very comfortable and private. She served me a lovely breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt, toast and coffee, as I requested, and offered eggs and bacon, which I declined. The wifi worked well. I'd stay here again.

  • I stayed with my wife at Diane's place from June 21 to June 24 and she is a wonderful hostess. She provided us everything we could need and even more. The bed was very comfy, the room was spacious and fitted with all amenities. We enjoyed having breakfast and discussing with Diane, who made us feel like home.
If you are looking for a place to stay in a residential area not far from downtown DC, Bethesda is the place to be ; plenty of restaurants around the corner and a direct metro to city center.

  • I am not the type of person who typically writes reviews but in this particular case I am compelled to as my stay here was over the top fantastic. If you are coming in to DC or Bethesda for any reason you owe it to yourself to ditch the hotel and visit with Diane. I use the word 'visit' intentionally because that's how it felt. Diane is as kind and gracious a host as you will ever find. From the great room to the delicious breakfasts to the plate of cookies...magnificent. When I come back next year I hope she isn't booked up as I would absolutely visit with Diane again. A++

  • My husband, Jon and I had a lovely stay with Diane Freeman. She was gracious and very accommodating to our needs. Her breakfasts were something to wake up for!

The location is ideal right in the heart of Bethesda and a very short walk to Metro. It was fun leaving her building and having Bethesda literally outside the door.
    Thank you, Diane!

    We highly recommend

  • Better than the perfect airbnb experience. I've used airbnb several times and none come close to my 2 weeks at my Home Away from Home.
The apartment is in a great location especially if you are visiting the NIH (1min walk to metro and a few min on the metro) plus you are right next to many good food places, the cinema, shops etc. Takes an easy 25min to get to the tourist attractions.
Nice building in a great neighbourhood. Large room, private bathroom, everything you would need and super clean! Breakfast is awesome! Diane is even more awesome! I would love to go back!
Enjoy your time here but be considerate and try not to book at the same time I want to!

  • My wife and I wanted to try something different from expensive hotels for our weekend stay in Washington, and decided to give airBnB a try. Our stay with Diane was incredible! She was so sweet, caring, she was so helpful and fun to talk to. Diane had everything for us covered to help plan our weekend and the amenities and "little extras" we're so awesome. My wife and I found ourselves pleasantly surprised with how hospitable and fantastic the accommodations were. When we come back to DC we would 100% stay with Diane again as we feel that we didn't just gain a new experience, but also a new friend. Thank you so much Diane :)
