This is a big, bright Chinatown loft in the heart of Victoria's downtown. With everything you need in walking distance, this is the perfect home away from home for those looking to experience everything Victoria has to offer.
Located in a restored ice factory, this apartment has tons of character. The original hardwood floors and open concept give this space a modern vintage feel that anyone would love. The decor is updated and trendy, and the place includes all the amenities one would need. Along with a queen size bed with memory foam, the vintage teak sofa pulls out to sleep one more guest. The rental also includes a beer tab with local Hoyne beer for an extra charge and a shared rooftop patio for the long Victoria summer nights.
This apartment includes almost anything a visitor would need. A full size kitchen with loads of appliances and dishes allows for guests to cook at home with fresh local ingredients that are available all over town. The bathroom has a shower/bath and towels for those who need them. The living room includes a flat screen TV with a full cable package, an X-Box 360 and Wii for those who like to spend their time indoors. The bedroom also has a flat screen TV with a playstation3 for DVDs and games. Coin laundry is available downstairs for $1.50 a load.
Being a local and having spent most of life in Victoria, I can fill you in on all the best places to eat, drink, and see. I have worked at a popular restaurant in town for the past 12 years so I have loads of knowledge about the city. If you need any help or have any questions during your stay I would be more than happy to help! I can also arrange pick-up and drop-off at the ferry or airport for those traveling from out of town.
Tarn is an exceptionally friendly and generous host who made us feel very welcome. Her spacious loft is tastefully furnished in mid-century modern décor and has a very comfortable bed.
The Chinatown location is perfect for a variety of shopping and dining experiences and there is an excellent coffee shop right across the street. The harbour with its tourist attractions is also nearby.
It was a pleasure to spend two nights at Tarn's and we only wish our stay could have been longer.
We loved Tarn's apartment. It's in a great location, very clean, and stylish. It was really easy to communicate with Tarn, she was clear and responded quickly. This has been our favourite airbnb stay and we would love to return!
Tarn was helpful and available throughout the weekend! Picking up and dropping off the key was easy and convenient. The loft was beautiful and in the best part of town. Tons of food, coffee, and bars to choose from.
Tarn's loft was simply amazing. From exposed brick to the hardwood floors, to the Donovan records and the issues of Kinfolk, her space was very inspiring. The location was in the center of Victoria. Tarn was also really friendly and accommodating!
Tarn is an excellent host. She is accommodating, easy to communicate with and has a great space to share. Location is easily accessible and loved the loft space.
Thanks again for sharing your place. Will definitely recommend to friends.
Such a beautiful place, and a very easy check-in/out experience.
Didnt get to meet her, but was very responsive via AirBnB messaging. Everything worked out smoothly, flexible to our schedule. Great apartment, furnished beautifully. Admired every piece of furniture/artwork/lighting/etc. Dim lighting, or we couldnt figure out all the lights. Great location, we had a great walk around chinatown and downtown. Public market, the alleyways, waterfront, all were great. Thanks for everything!
Oh that memory foam bed! Amazing
Beautiful place, perfect location. Spacious, great taste in furniture. Can't really beat this one. Tarn was easy to communicate with and a gracious person.
In a nutshell: easy communication with Tarn, funky decor in a hip loft setting, and easy access via car or walking to lots of great restaurants and fun Victoria sights! We'd recommend to anyone looking for a fun getaway with a more original setting than a traditional hotel.
Our stay in Victoria at Tarns apartment was awesome. We only spent one night in Victoria and wish we could have stayed longer. The apartments location is central to the downtown and very convenient for walking around town. The apartment was extremely clean and comfortable, there was beer in the fridge and clean towels. Tarn was great and easy to communicate with even though we lost internet connection as soon as we crossed the US - Canada border. I appreciate her helpfulness in restaurants and recommend Jam (right downstairs!) for breakfast. There is also a great sports bar called Podium where the owner and staff are great.
I would definitely recommend Tarns apartment for a truly terrific Victoria experience.
