This is a big, bright Chinatown loft in the heart of Victoria's downtown. With everything you need in walking distance, this is the perfect home away from home for those looking to experience everything Victoria has to offer.

The Space

Located in a restored ice factory, this apartment has tons of character. The original hardwood floors and open concept give this space a modern vintage feel that anyone would love. The decor is updated and trendy, and the place includes all the amenities one would need. Along with a queen size bed with memory foam, the vintage teak sofa pulls out to sleep one more guest. The rental also includes a beer tab with local Hoyne beer for an extra charge and a shared rooftop patio for the long Victoria summer nights.

This apartment includes almost anything a visitor would need. A full size kitchen with loads of appliances and dishes allows for guests to cook at home with fresh local ingredients that are available all over town. The bathroom has a shower/bath and towels for those who need them. The living room includes a flat screen TV with a full cable package, an X-Box 360 and Wii for those who like to spend their time indoors. The bedroom also has a flat screen TV with a playstation3 for DVDs and games. Coin laundry is available downstairs for $1.50 a load.

Interaction with Guests

Being a local and having spent most of life in Victoria, I can fill you in on all the best places to eat, drink, and see. I have worked at a popular restaurant in town for the past 12 years so I have loads of knowledge about the city. If you need any help or have any questions during your stay I would be more than happy to help! I can also arrange pick-up and drop-off at the ferry or airport for those traveling from out of town.

  • Very modern and stylish place in a fantastic central location. Tarn made all transactions very smooth. Highly recommend this place and host.

  • Everything was great and as nice as the pictures suggest. We took the ferry from Port Angeles, walked to Tarn's place of work, picked up the keys and then over to the apartment. We spent two nights and didn't take full advantage of the amenities. Definitely worth every penny!

  • This place is gorgeous! Especially the couch! It's also pretty close to all the major bus stops in downtown Victoria. Tarn is pretty nice and flexible with check-in and check-out time.

  • Tarn's place felt like our own personal pad in the city. Super bright, open, stylish and in an incredible location. We had a great visit and Tarn was an enthusiastic and sweet host.

  • I don't think there's a single detail in Tarn's apartment that hasn't been well thought out and curated. It's absolutely gorgeous!
The location is even better than we had expected. It's literally steps from some of the best restaurants in town (thanks for the recommendations!), and some great furniture shopping.
Tarn also has a cookbook collection that is to die for. I could have spent the entire weekend not leaving the apartment, just reading all the great cookbooks and Kinfolk!

  • Tarn was super helpful, full of great tips for restaurants and bars, and really made us excited about our trip. The apartment is gorgeous and full of fun books and items. Super conveniently located as well - 20 steps away from one of the best breakfast places in Victoria (Jam Café) and just a block or two from Canoe Brewpub. I wish our stay was longer and would love to visit Tarn and her place again!

  • What a wonderful place Tarn has in the heart of Victoria. I only stayed one night so it was a short but great stay.

    March 2014
  • Tarn is an exceptionally friendly and generous host who made us feel very welcome. Her spacious loft is tastefully furnished in mid-century modern décor and has a very comfortable bed.

The Chinatown location is perfect for a variety of shopping and dining experiences and there is an excellent coffee shop right across the street. The harbour with its tourist attractions is also nearby.

It was a pleasure to spend two nights at Tarn's and we only wish our stay could have been longer.

I'm originally from Bangkok Thailand. I moved to Victoria in 1994 to go to school and have live here ever since. I hope you love Victoria as much as I do.
