  • Massimo was a lovely host, super helpful with local spots to eat, drink, buy food, service cream etc. He met us at the apartment and was very thorough and went through everything we could possibly need and even left a info book with maps, wifi info, taxi numbers, even providing water, juice and a bowl of fruit for us. The apartment was even nicer than the pictures, 2 lovely terraces, fully equipped kitchen, super comfortable bed, wifi, air conditioning! The area was perfect for visiting pitti, but mainly was in a lovely quiet non-touristy area of florence with many amenities but was very close to all the hustle bustle and many sights that florence has to offer!

  • "The Nest" was a perfect stay for our 2 nights in Florence. Very centrally located and really enough space for 2 persons! Thank you, Massimo, for the flexible check-in and check-out and the perfect tipps for restaurants.

  • We loved our stay in Massimo's Nest. Massimo is a very organized and thorough host, the nest is a quiet and restful place to rest from touring, and we loved the two terraces. The one outside the kitchen is a great place for meals. The air conditioners are powerful, and the bathroom is well done. Thank you, Massimo! We are so happy that we stayed with you in Florence.

  • We stayed as a couple in the Nest for one week and had a very nice and relaxing time there! We were warmly welcomed and Massimo helped us with parking and luggage and explained everything necessary to us. The Nest is very well equipped and had everything we needed - even coffee, some juice and fruit, pasta etc. were already there to get started perfectly (as we were arriving on a sunday). As other guests before mentioned, the shower is small (but works well) and you can only sit sideways on the toilet, because it is too close to the shower. But for us it was okay (and my boyfriend is not that small). We loved the possibility to park our car securely and also that it's possible to walk into town - so that we could make day trips to Lucca and the sea or just walk into Florence-centre - both very comfortable. And in the evenings we often had our dinner in the little pocket terrace which is very nice! We had a wonderful week in Florence and in the Nest - thanks Massimo!

  • The Nest was wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect apartment and Mossimo was a perfect host and even called for a taxi to be there for our day of departure which was a great help. Apartment was lovely and very clean. I wish I could have stayed longer. There are a lot of steps but for me I was glad to work off the gelatos. The pastry shop up the street was heavenly and a morning ritual.

  • We stayed nearly a month at Massimo's apartment in Florence. Massimo was waiting for us on the sidewalk when we pulled up and very kindly helped us up the three (plus) flights with the large amount of luggage we had brought. The steps are fairly well lit and are not difficult to negotiate.

Massimo had fresh strawberries along with some juice and sweets out for us. We also availed ourselves of the dried pasta and tomatoes and the oil and balsamic vinegar for some homemade meals. The microwave was handy for heating take away from the nearby restaurant.

The apartment is very charming and the outdoor space has a wonderful feel The private area has a table and three chairs and the shared space, which we had pretty much to ourselves, is very lovely.

You need to take Massimo seriously about his wifi internet access. I was unable to use (website hidden) with my iOS device (my husband was able to use (website hidden) with his laptop, go figure). E-mail was usable.

We found the bed to be very comfortable and plenty wide. Towards the end of our stay it was beginning to get warm in Florence and we found the air conditioners to be quick and plenty powerful.

The bathroom is configured in a somewhat awkward way. The shower closet is small but we found it workable (a large person would NOT fit). We always had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The toilet, however, is so close to the shower cabinet that you could only sit on it sideways (and I am less than 5 feet, 5 inches or 165 cm tall)! We used the washing machine multiple times along with the drying rack.

At our request, Massimo had his cleaning people come during our stay (€15). The location was great for us -- you are a short walk to the most touristy area of Florence and the immediate neighborhood is great. We felt very safe, enjoyed the very close proximity to multiple parks, and easy access to a grocery store and many eating establishments.

In all, The Nest is wonderful for a short stay.

    Response from Massimo:

Hello Sylvia thanks for feed back on dishwasher wl get it checked, the trouble probably it is that is very rarely used so I guess these machines if not used regularly get stuck, but I wl get it checked. while for WIFI is very strange as i also used it yesterday while i was waiting the new guest coming in and the guests that arrived on the 9th also used it with no problem, it has plenty of giga available 20 per month, so for web brows (website hidden) email and all social network is very good... I think you may had some issue with your device to link.. incorrect wifi key or something, if you told me i could hv sorted it promptly and i am sorry you had this trouble but trust me the wifi works pretty well. best wishes Massimo

  • Staying at The Nest was just perfect. Massimo's accommodations were not only very clean and comfortable, but also, The Nest made us feel like we were actually living in Italy as true Florentines. We shopped at the local market and we cooked at home. Massimo invited us to pick the herbs growing right there in his terrace garden. We were finally able to catch up on doing a laundry here. The tourist sights are so very close to The Nest. You can catch a bus a block away which will take you anywhere in Florence. Thank you to Massimo and his family for making our stay in Florence so very pleasant.

  • The Nest was a very nice place to stay. The apartment is spacious and has a large terrace. We met Massimo’s daughter Barbara at the apartment to receive the keys, and she was very helpful. Massimo’s apartment includes some food in the kitchen, a bottle of water, and converters to use, and inside the apartment Massimo left a binder of information about the neighborhood (email hidden) hook-up to use. The Wi-Fi did not work well for us, but that was the only problem. We had a great stay at the Nest!

  • We arrived in Florence in the evening and were greeted at the apartment by Massimo's daughter Barbara. The apartment is in a great location and was very clean and had everything we needed. We were told to help ourselves to coffee, tea, and some food in the cupboards which was excellent as we were hungry when we arrived and it was too late to go out to eat.

Overall the flat is very well appointed and would have no problem staying again next time we're in Florence.
