  • Nice accommodations and great host.

  • Nicholas was an attentive host, giving us recommendations about nearby restaurants and farmer's market. The guest house was simple, clean, and quiet, on a lovely street.

  • My family was thrilled to find this adorable guest house for our recent trip. We lived in the Montrose area several years ago, so knew that the neighborhood would be a great fit. However, upon arrival, we discovered that the property was even better than expected. Located in a gorgeous neighborhood down a gated driveway behind a beautiful main house, this mini-house was private and quiet. We were around the corner from a couple of excellent cafes, and walking distance (~10 minutes’ walk at our toddler’s pace!) to a marvelous grocery store (HEB) several blocks south.

Nicholas himself was super nice, and very helpful with the items we asked about. We enjoyed chatting with him about organic farming and the local farmer’s market, and about traveling in South America. The space itself was great. We wanted to rent a whole house/apt instead of a hotel room so our toddler could sleep in his own space, and this place fit the bill with separate bedroom and living room. Even the spacious walk-in closet was big enough to fit our kiddo’s pack-and-play (literally!), but in the end we decided to keep him in the LR.

The decoration was pretty spartan, which suited us fine – our toddler had very little to meddle with. However, the space was still comfortable enough for us to entertain a pair of guests one evening – with plenty of chairs and glasses for all of us. We borrowed a car to use during our time in Houston, and never had any trouble finding parking on the street out front.

We also very much enjoyed simply wandering around the neighborhood – again, the area is lovely, and our kiddo loved toddling on the grass in front of the house and looking for “doodlebugs.”

Generally speaking, the place was tidy (although it probably wouldn’t have passed Grandma’s white glove test) and very comfortable. We didn’t find hand soap in the bathroom, but we just bought some when we hit the supermarket and left it behind for the next guests (you’re welcome!). One of the towels had bleach spots, but they all seemed clean enough and we had plenty of them for the three of us. The bed was comfy, and we made use of both the central heat and the A/C (Houston springtime is fickle!), which were quiet and worked efficiently. We enjoyed the screen door and the ceiling fans, too.

The kitchen was stocked with some pretty random ingredients, and upon inquiry, we learned they were available for our use. These included a freezer full of delicious Mexican paletas, or fruit popsicles – definitely ask Nicholas to share their hysterical story of origin. We didn’t cook during our stay (we dined with nearby family members), but we found everything we searched for in the kitchen (scissors, corkscrew, silverware, glasses, etc.) The tap water tasted fine.

This little house was perfect for us. We'd definitely stay here again, and we’ll keep it on our list for our next visit!

  • Great place, nice location!

  • Nicholas' place is in a great neighborhood, convenient to many activities, shopping and events. It was a good sized unit for a couple. This was our first stay in an airbnb lodging. We gave it a 3 star only because when we arrived the kitchen garbage hadn't been emptied, there was someone's undergarment left in the closet and the bathroom sink plumbing wasn't attached to the wall which resulted in water spilling on the floor. Nicholas showed up right away to take care of these things. He was pleasant and helpful. Nick has a dog which snuck in through the screen door and it took a bit to coax him out of the house so just a warning to others...

  • Nick is super accommodating. My flight was delayed by several hours and it was not a problem for him in the slightest. Nick is also a great guy with many suggestions about what to do in the city and the neighborhood.

The unit Nick rents is in great shape, has a huge TV, climate control, everything you could really want.

The location of the house is perfect for going out in Montrose with all its stores, bars and restaurants. It's two blocks of the main strip which is close for walking but ensures that you still have easy parking at the house when you need it.

Hands down best AirBnB rental yet.

  • The apartment is clean and comfortable. Checking-in was a breeze and the host was very polite and down to earth. The location can't be beat, and the neighborhood seemed pretty safe. Overall a very good experience.

  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful weekend staying in Nick's charming back house! It had everything we needed, was close to lots of fun restaurants and we had a great time. Nick was an accommodating host, allowing us to bring our dog and helping my boyfriend check in since I was held up due to a work commitment. Would love to stay here again next time I am in Houston.
