This new studio in our 100 yr old barn sits on 7 acres in the middle of the Santa Ynez valley wine country. The second Airbnb listing on the property. Very private with a beautiful view of the Figueroa Mountain range. No tv. Country wifi. No children under 8. Nice dogs ok, cats not so much.
Your space is a separate and private 240sq ft open beamed studio with a concrete countertop kitchenette including a stainless steel microwave, 2 burner stove top, sink, and frig. Your private bathroom is roomy with a shower(wash rack) toilet and marble topped vessel sink valise. The main open room has a comfy queen bed with 6 pillows, quilts and a comforter as well as a comfy futon couch that can be used as an additional bed. Linens, towels, washcloths and bathrobes are all provided. The concrete floors are great when it's warm weather but even with the throw rugs you might want to bring slippers in the cooler months. The heater/air conditioning unit is quiet and works great.
There is a nice covered front porch to hang out on with beautiful views of the Figurroa Mts.
We prefer if guests park to the right of the barn so as not to impede the view and accessibility.
Our property sits on the Amgen /tour de California trail and there are plenty of cycling ( both road and mountain) routs to check out. We have a couple of basic bikes for you to cruz on and a couple of long boards to surf on as the Gaviota beach is about 30 miles away. Santa Barbara is about 45 miles and Lake Cachuma is 15.
The Danish town of Solvang is 5 miles away boasting 13+ tasting rooms and Los Olivos claiming 35+ tasting rooms is also about 5 miles away. A good handful of winery's are within a mile or two of our front gate. Robalar, Beckman, Rideau, Lincourt, Kalira, Bridlewood and Sunstone to name the closest.
You may use the unheated pool during daylight hours ONLY and at ONES OWN RISK and is shared with our other Airbnb guests as well as ourselves. No midnight skinny dips as there would be four people from two differnt houses and 3 dogs trying to rescue you. This is our (Holly and Terry) home and ranchette as well as my parents (Fred and Donnie). We have 3 clean well behaved dogs (2 jackrussels and 1 calm border collie) on the property and they live with us in our house. We leave most of our doors open all the time as the temperatures dictate. There are chickens that roam the property during the day and five retired horses in separate pastures as you enter the property as well as two goats. The property is perimeter fenced and your dogs are welcome of course ONLY if your dogs play well with others...We can keep the chickens caged if you dont know if your dog will hurt them. Also dogs will need to stay on a leash if they want to bark and run at the horse and goat fences, this is not ok,otherwise they are free to roam and detox from leashed life.
The large sand arena is the best area to run and through balls/frisbees for dogs, as too much time on the gravel makes for sore feet on the pups. All gravel areas as well as horse barn porch area are cool to cruz around on and any acorns(AKA M&M's) found may be fed to the goats..
Interaction with guests
We like to do an initial meet and quick tour of space with each guest but than guests are on their own. Please dont hesitate to ask for any special considerations as we would try to accomplish and accomidate anything that would make your stay here great!
Other things to note
We like to have at least the first names of all guests and if this is your first airbnb experience please tell us about yourselves in respect to trusting you on our property and what interested you in it.
There is plenty of parking near the studio once in the gate. There is one queen bed and one full size futon and only room for two or less people at this time. NO CHILDREN UNDER 8. Let us know if you would like us to set up the futon as a bed before you get here or just to leave linens and pillows.
• Check-in is anytime after 1PM.
• Check-out time is by 11AM.
•Non smoking property.
•Please drive slowly and watch out for the dogs.
•Ok to feed the horses apples and carrots and the goats acorns but please don't enter their pens.
• note that barn studio is clean but still on a dirt/gravel driveway near animals and our feed area, where oat hay and alfalfa is kept...just an FYI for those with allergies.
