1 bedroom, 1 living room, luxurious bathroom, well equipped kitchenette10 minutes walk to central Palo Alto. 15 min. by bike to Stanford.
The apartment is located at a tranquil street in the most attractive Willow's neighborhood, yet very central with walking distance (10min.) to the shops, restaurants and cafés of University Avenue in Palo Alto, the nicest and most vibrant street in Palo Alto & Silicon Valley. Only a 15 min. bike ride to Stanford University and 10 min. to the posh Stanford Shopping center, where you find all the large brands as well as more nice restaurants and cafés.
The apartment is a new listing (as of end of May-2013), and is completely remodeled earlier this year with beautiful and sophisticated materials - sustainable bamboo hardwood floors throughout, concrete countertop, crown molding, recessed lights, Persian marble... The unit is fully furnished and equipped, has a queen size bed, and a convertible sofa bed, for any of your occasional guests.

You have your own private entrance to your own garden and patio witch leads into the unit's bedroom and living room area. The modern kitchenette is well equipped with all the utensils and cookware for 2 or more, and has a stove, fridge (w. small freezer), microwave, coffee maker, and in-unit laundry/dryer.
Interaction with Guests
We welcome our guests personally, and are happy to provide restaurant-, shopping- and sightseeing advice and maps and books about the local scene and context can be provided. We are a small family who reside in the house to which the apartment is attached, but the unit is insulated and sound proofed and with your own entrance and garden your privacy is guaranteed.
The charming Menlo Park - Willow's neighborhood has all tree lined winding streets and is packed with beautiful houses. However, the tranquility and small-town feeling is an illusion, since you are close to all amenities and have easy access to freeways and the corporate world of Silicon Valley, which is only minutes away with e.g. the headquarters of (website hidden) being only a few minutes drive.
Besides the nearby large usual Supermarkets, the local smaller Willow's supermarket, on Middlefield, only a couple of minutes walk away are famous for their huge selection of all sorts of beverages, international food and groceries and houses a Lavazza coffee shop, and has a great 'food truck' event every Monday, plus wine tastings every Wednesday evening. Also a couple of blocks away there is a latino supermarket, La Hacienda, where you can get excellent tacos and burritos. The local Café Zoë serves excellent breakfasts & coffees, and the 'Spa in the Park', all just minutes away, has everything you need to treat yourself.
Getting around in Menlo Park and Palo Alto is easiest by bike or by foot. Besides the Stanford shuttle bus, public transport is fairly limited, (but still much better than most other US cities/towns). The Caltrain station is 10min. away by bike, and will take you to downtown San Francisco in 30-45 min.

This was truly a couple of minutes walk to Palo Alto and perhaps 10 more minutes to “downtown.” Both the living room and the bedroom had access to the lovely patio. Trendy/high style European fixtures. Very comfortable bed. Very quiet, lovely neighborhood. The kitchen was efficient. Hosts Sara and Nic could not be nicer; they are friendly and helpful; and were generous in providing some basic needs for breakfast, etc. plus flowers and a fruit basket. Perfect for one or two people, although there is another bed in the sofa. Highly recommended.
Sara and Nic's place is a jewel. Adjacent to their home, it is nonetheless a very private space. It has its own garden and entrance, sitting room with pull-out sofa and TV, kitchen, great bath, and very comfortable bed.
I arrived very late at night, and they had left me some muffins, butter, cheese, cold cuts, and coffee for breakfast...a really nice and thoughtful touch. The place is near everything, but on a secluded street...very restful.
I'd recommend it to anyone. Thanks Nic and Sara.
Great location to stay in South Bay area. Really close to Palo Alto Downtown (walking distance), easy to reach 101 (5 mins car). Bedroom, kitchen and Bathroom are perfect. Perfecly furnished. Large windows and Nice garden to enjoy the very quiet neighbourhood.
Highly recommanded if you want to stay in the area.

We are a family of four, Sara and Niclas with our two boys Aston and Elliott. We are originally from Sweden, and have spent the last four years in Norway and California. We are interested in design and love decorating our homes in Norway, California and France to become unique and homey places with a cross-cultural inspiration. We have traveled around the world and lived in Hawaii and France before we settled in Norway and California. We try to spend as much time as possible in our California house and we also love to go to France whenever we can to introduce our boys to the culture as well as enjoying the wonderful architecture and food that we think is impossible to find anywhere else in the world.
