About this listing

This B&B is unique as it is close to everything Okanagan. From wineries to cycling the KVR trail, rock climbing at Skaha Bluffs, hiking, water sports, beaches, shopping, art galleries, restaurants and much more. During the summer and fall there are numerous festivals and sports activities. The neighbourhood is quite, the scenery spectacular with both lake and mountain views. The bird and deer viewing opportunities are a bonus.

The space

Private, separate entrance, gardens, LAKEVIEW, MOUNTAIN VIEW and parking in rural community only 10 minutes south of Penticton, BC. This quiet location is perfect for wildlife watching including deer, birds and occasional bears. The yard is fenced. Cafes, wineries, golf restaurants, rock climbing, swimming (beaches near), hiking and biking trails, etc all close by.

The lakeview room is spacious and comfortable with one washroom with a shower. There is parking and a private entrance for the suite. The style is modern. It is a great place to call home while going out and about each day. There is a small fridge, microwave oven and tea/coffee service. We are only minutes away from the famous Kettle Valley Railroad trail. You can ride from Kaleden to Penticton (north) or from Kaleden to OK Falls (south) or all the way to Osoyoos. The trail is flat, as it is an old railroad grade line. The beach in Kaleden has picnic areas and a great place to swim.

The community of Kaleden is semi rural, meaning you may see people horseback riding and tractors on the main road. There is a super restaurant in Kaleden that is open on occasion for a BBQ right on the lake. There are 3 wineries in the neighborhood and the wonderful "Linden Gardens"with it's Frog City Cafe.

There is no public transit but tours to golfing and wineries can be arranged. Two wineries are within walking distance Krazi Legz and Top Shelf.

Our place is unique because it is well appointed, large, private and super relaxing. The view of the lake and mountains is fantastic and of course the hosts are wanting to make your stay fun and complete.

Guest access

Your space includes a large outdoor area with patio, bistro table, lounging and a hot tub. The from to the house is your space. the back of the house is private. The space is large (700 square feet) and includes a dressing room.

Interaction with guests

I can recommend places to eat, wineries to visit, thinking, cycling areas and wildlife viewing opportunities.

Beautifully positioned with outstanding views, this cosy, private little piece of paradise is great for hikers, walkers, climbers or vineyard buffs. Judy our host, was very attentive with a lovely breakfast included. and the room was spacious with a beautiful deck from which to watch hummingbirds at the feeder, the bumble bees buzzing around the beautiful flowering garden and the expanse of the surrounding mountains. Would definitely recommend for couples who are wanting to get away from it all. PS. The home-baked cheese scones were to die for...!

The visit was wonderful. I have stayed at many B&Bs over the last few decades. THis was the best place we have ever stayed. The garden was delightful. Breakfast was just what we wanted and eaten with a view over the lake. It was very private and quiet. I would recommend it to anyone.

A charming and beautiful place and a genuinely kind host who engages her guests (thank you Judy). The experience started off well with initial intro's and then it went poorly as we were told the suite we had booked and PAID for was double booked. Then we were told the other party did not pay so we had the suite back. Now if we had paid before the other party, why were we asked to take another "room" at a discount as opposed to the full suite? Secondly, we had our mind set on the discounted room and when offered the original suite disappointed due to the cost difference and our emails were never responded to with regards to this piece. While we did receive a bottle of wine for our troubles there was no conversation / avoidance with regards to the mixup and a cash offset would have been appreciated for our troubles. I could go on and I will summarize our experience in this way; The host is a sweet lady and has a beautiful place however her communication skills in terms of emails, phone, etc could use improvement and in this case lead to our negative aspect of the "experience". As well topping up items such as water in the fridge, granola, etc should be a daily piece rather than the guest having to ask for these items. Overall a good experience and we would stay with Judy again and the points above hopefully will help improve the overall service aspect of Judy's business.

We stayed with Judy and Ernie for two nights. The neighbourhood was quiet and they were very welcoming. We got married at Linden Gardens and they allowed the bridal party to get ready at the B and B! It is a great space and a beautiful view. Breakfast was delicious and we will return!! Carla and Kevin

My husband and I had a wonderful stay! Judy and Ernie were very friendly and helpful hosts -- they also shared suggestions on where to visit, eat, tour etc. The suite was super clean and very roomy for 2 people, and it stayed cool throughout our visit. The basket breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed them in the lovely garden space. We spent our mornings and late evenings enjoying the outdoor space, with amazing views over the lake, and watching the magpies and hummingbirds! The location was a quick drive to both Oliver and Penticton, allowing us to visit many wineries in the area. Would definitely recommend this space for anyone looking for a relaxing stay.

Great location to explore wine country. The suite was exactly as described, the garden a little gem, the hot tub a real bonus and the breakfasts a savory treat. Judy was a fantastic host with lots of suggestions for things to do in the area.

Hello my name is Judy. I am retired and am pursuing a life long dream of being an artist. Officially, I am a biologist with a extreme love for the outdoors and favorite outdoor activities are cycling, kayaking and gardening. I love to work in watercolours, encaustic paints and doodling. I love to cook, especially Indian and Asian. My favorite travel destinations are Belize, Costa Rica and Vancouver Island. I love, love, love music, most genres but appreciate cello, violin, piano and a good voice without yelling. I can do without but care not to: iPad, books, kayak, camping, my friends and family, cilantro and avocados. This is the fourth year we have been opened. We have had wonderful guests every year and hope to make new friends this year. I like to look after them with good food, comfortable surroundings and privacy.
