Enter through secret garden gates to the lush backyard of a 1929 Spanish colonial hacienda. Located in a quiet, historic downtown neighborhood, this unique guesthouse has been completely upgraded while retaining the grace and charm of an earlier time. The original sundeck was enclosed to become a low loft bedroom up above the trees. Period furnishings, ample and cozy for 1-3 adults with all the comforts of home. Private bath & kitchen, spacious communal garden patios. Easy commute to everywhere.

The space
Things were smaller and cozy back in the day. The low ceiling height in the loft / bedroom (5'4") is due to city zoning height restrictions. The queen size bed in the loft has two separate air bladders under the thick memory foam topper and 100% cotton linens. Feel free to make one side too hard, one too soft, or both Just Right. The original tiny shower stall was transformed to a large custom tiled shower. The sofa converts easily to a single bed, with a memory foam mattress and cotton linens in the antique trunk. The leather chair fully reclines to a comfy single bed. Polished concrete, hardwood and tiled floors. Your work desk has very fast internet / WiFi (200 mbps) and a great view of the garden. Indoor breakfast bar, or enjoy your morning out on the patio. Your kitchen is fully functional and stocked with water and snacks. The space is light and bright with lots of windows. Plenty of free, well lit parking on the street in front of the main house.

Guest access
A main house and two separate guest houses are on site. All are rentals and all share the common rear garden. Choose a spot in the sun or shade. Plenty of tables and chairs for al fresco dining. Free washer/dryer and supplies for your use in the rear laundry room. Propane gas or wood/charcoal BBQ's and a fire pit - please call for instructions before use. PLEASE NOTE: There is a narrow stairway up to the loft bedroom. There is a partial stair railing. It has worked just fine for 25 years and 1000's of guests. Please book this guesthouse only if you are willing and able to navigate the stairs and low ceiling height.

Other things to note
The Loft guesthouse is equipped with a high efficiency HVAC air conditioning / cooling system. The cooling and heating systems will be set to maintain a comfortable indoor air temperature. You are welcome to adjust the thermostats as desired during your stay. Please return the systems to the original settings when you depart. I am very allergic to cats. Any feline or pet visit will incur an extra cleaning fee. At check-out, please leave things just as you found them - neat and tidy, used linens on the floor, any used dishes washed, door unlocked, door key inside, on the desk.

I am a self employed "Life Lover" who loves to experience new and different everything. My two daughters have recently left home for college, so I am planning to travel more - in and out of the USA. I am friendly, outgoing, confident, self sufficient, calm, peaceful and tidy. I love clean air & water, oceans, lakes, mountains, people, animals, food and warm sunny days. Life is short - Carpe diem.

During your stay
There are fresh coffee pods in your kitchen and sometimes fresh pomagrants, grapefruit and oranges hanging outside of your front door. Powered stereo system ready for your phone, ipod, ipad, mp3 music. 40+ unique, independent, low priced dining/drinking establishments are all within walking distance - for coffee, breakfast, lunch, happy hour, dinner, dessert or a late night snack. "Yelp" is a great resource for info about open hours, specials and reviews. I live 20 minutes away and can usually arrange my schedule to welcome you when you arrive. I've lived, worked and played in downtown Phoenix for the past 30 years. It's all here, all great, and gets better every day. If you have questions, I have answers. I answer my cell phone 24/7.
