About this listing

Great location, spacious room in two-bedroom apartment. Courtyard access, nice living room, and cheery kitchen. Super close to bars and restaurants.
Spacious, private room in a ground floor, two-bedroom apartment. It has its own entrance to the main hallway, giving you the option of entering directly to it, or entering through the front door and walking through the living room. The room you're renting has a (non-working) fireplace, two windows, a closet, table and chairs, chest, and comfy, full-size bed. Included are clean sheets and towels, duvet, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and toothpaste.
I live in the other private room, and will be home during your stay, although I work a bunch and am never home as much as I'd like!
The apartment offers access to a tree-shaded courtyard (which is shared with the three other apartments in the building), a nice living room with tons of art and plants, and cheery kitchen with all the cooking tools you'd need, and a stove and toaster oven, if you'd like to cook! I also have a drip coffee maker and a French press, and have tea and coffee for you. The apartment is nicely decorated throughout, check out the pictures. And when you arrive, don't judge a book by its cover; while the outside of the building is (ahem) "old school" and graffiti-covered, the inside is homey and spacious, with exposed brick and high ceilings. And overall, in my opinion, way nicer and more homey than the new glass and steel behemoths that are popping up all over the area. Please note that because the apartment is so centrally located, and the bedroom you'll be renting is adjacent to the street, you may hear the murmur of folks walking by outside, especially on weekends. If you are especially sensitive to noise when going to sleep, this apartment may not be the best choice for you.
To reach the subway, it's an approx. 6-minute walk to the Lorimer/Metropolitan L or G train, or a 10-minute walk to the Bedford L train. It's an approx. 10-minute walk to the Broadway J/M/Z train.
You're just minutes away from tons of restaurants, bars, stores, and a grocery store on Grand Street, Havermeyer, and Roebeling. I'll leave you with a guide to my local favorites, as well as suggestions if you have a specific hankering. I love to meet travelers and give recommendations! I will also leave you with maps to Brooklyn and Manhattan. Many travelers who stay with me are surprised how much time they end up staying in Williamsburg and other areas of Brooklyn, and not as much time in Manhattan as they expected. Don't be surprised if you find yourself doing the same.
Feel free to contact me with any questions about my place, or the area at large! I love my neighborhood and am happy to share it with cool folks, and want you to make the most of your stay.
Access to entire apartment, except for my bedroom, which I will be in.
Interaction with Guests
Love to meet travelers and give recommendations.
L train at Bedford Ave. approx. 8 minute walk, L/G at Lorimer/Metropolitan approx. 6 minute walk.
I am limited to hosting one or two guests at a time, whether you are friends or a couple. You may not bring additional guests home with you.
I have neighbors who live in the apartment above me. They're cool, but please be courteous, especially about noise later in the evening.
We arrived very early on a Sunday morning. Brian had asked a friend to meet us with the key for the place as he was out of town. The apartment was wonderful and clean as shown in the photographs. The place has a beautiful sense of design with many playful arrangements in all rooms. Brian had left flyers for subway and other useful information about the city. He had also texted me specific info for subway connections which made it easy for me to hop on the train the next morning for doing business. Loved the access to the little garden area- and there was beer in the fridge too when we arrived. Overall it was an excellent stay and I would rent from Brian again.
Brian was a fabulous host. He was warm, friendly, welcoming, and his place was really cool. It was kind of inspiring actually-- like he should give home styling advice.
One of the things I thought was amazing was how well Brian is prepared to be an AirBnB host. He has books, maps, and personalized lists of his favorite spots available for his guests. This made it really easy to plan a day or a meal.
The neighborhood was super awesome. Everything I could have wanted out of a Brooklyn experience. It was close to public transportation, bars, amazing food, and lots of vintage shops.
I can't wait to come back to Brooklyn, and we I do, I am staying at Brian's sweet pad again!
This is the place where you want to stay when going to Williamsburg! Brian is a welcoming, great host and I only wish I had seen more of him during the days. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the place is super clean and the location is great!
An eclectic oasis of sublime taste and that's just Brian! Calm from the hipster storm in the heart of Williamsburg. Clean, serene and classy. Top shelf!
Brian is an exceptional host. He made us feel welcome and completely at home on his 2 bedroom apartment, located in a miraculously quiet street at the heart of Williamsburg, where all the cool and hip bars and restaurants are. Getting to Manhattan is VERY easy as well.
It's in the details though: Brian leaves instructions around the house (heater, shower, a handwritten guide of his favourite places in the area), keeps some cool ones in the fridge and supplies the room with tiny soap and toothpaste and shampoo - I mean, come on! Is this VIP treatment or what?
Great guy, great place, great location, large clean room, large clean bathroom, a crazy amount of hospitality. Our best Airbnb stay so far, by far.
Brian is a great host, your attention and your wonderful apartment made our stay incredible that the neighborhood is also a great experience to go and be.
The description of the apartment is the same as your photos.
Brian was absolutely great. The room was beautiful. Everything was accessible and the pages that he left for us in the room with details about what to do in Williamsburg made our stay easy and interesting. I met brian once when i just arrived and we had a very nice conversation in the livingroom. During the week he was out, so we didn't get a chance to say goodbye. Next time! Great place for two people!
