We had such a great time at Norwin's place. This being are first time on airbnb we jumped up and down with glee when we walked in. It was everything we expected and more. We really felt like we scored cause we usually spend a fortune in hotels.
His housekeeper met us 11:00 pm and after letting us in we strolled over to Little Italy and had dinner outside till almost 1:00 in the morning. The location is safe and within walking distance to Soho, China Town and Little Italy but there are plenty of cabs if you need one with the Sheraton across the street. I lived in NYC for many years and wanted my daughters to have a real NYC experience before attending college there and Norwin's place really delivered. Lots of extra delights like a huge empty closet for all our hanging clothes with tons of hangers.
The loft was the icing on the cake to an incredible time in the city.
The apartment and location were wonderful. Norwin was VERY helpful when we discovered that the apartment key had fallen out of a hole in my husband's pocket! We would gladly stay there again.
My friends and I had great time staying in Norwins appartment. It looks just like the photos, so no bad supprises. Loads of space this was great for getting ready to go out at night, great location so colse to soho (good shopping). My friend who was getting there first was delayed by 5 hours due to her flight, they were so help in working around this. Hope we can stay there next time we are in town.
The flat is very well located and very nice to stay. You easy feel good in that loft!
But, I have to say we had different expectations. The bed sheets were not clean, there was food in the fridge, clothes not in the closet... And the bathroom was not very clean... For this price we expected all this done. And after 12 hours of traveling you don't really want to make the bed using the sheets that are still in the dryer...
We never had the chance to meet Norwin...
Oliver observed house rules. However, he was an unresponsive guest and perhaps has misguided expectation from the airbnb experience. After he expressed concern over the condition of the apartment at his check-in, I tried repeatedly to get in contact with him to see better understand and resolved but my attempts went by unanswered until he emailed to ask for a late check out which I was happy to provide. His expectation not to have food in the fridge or clothes hanging in the closets does not recognize that this is an actual home not a hotel room and perhaps misunderstands the airbnb concept.
We had a nice stay at Norwin's apartment! Norwin was a pleasant host. We had to pick up the keys in a store around the corner, but everything worked out fine and Norwin was very responsive. The apartment was very spacious, clean and tidy. The place has monumental looks and quite some historical details, but on the other hand you can hear the above floor creaking during the night if you are sensitive to it. All in all we have good memories about our stay.
We spent two weeks there. This loft is really well localized close to subway, great shops and good restaurants. The loft is on a quite noisy street, but with the air-conditioning system we left the windows closed and it was fine. There is a quite big living room and a functional kitchen. The room is on the back side and quite noiseless (except maybe the air-conditioning system).
Norwin was reachable and answered quickly to our questions.
The check out was really easy and Norwin not too strict with the time.
A really great place to stay in New York!
Our Trip to New York wouldn't have been so great without Norwin's loft. It is exactly as described with a looooot of space, clean and close to several subway stations. Norwin and Eileen were always there to help and answer questions that came up.
The temperature and level of noise are very pleasant. The household equipment worked perfectly for us.
We all enjoyed our stay in Norwin's loft and I can only recommend it to everybody else.
Norwins loft was exactly as described. In the heart of SoHo, close to transport, shops, sights and dining. It's on busy Canal street but once inside you can barely hear the traffic - well insulated and huge ... Ideal for relaxing after a day in the city.
All mod cons are available, very clean and Norwin gave clear instructions, stayed in touch and accommodated our arrival and exit.
