I had the most wonderful stay in this lovely little place in Dubrovnik. Dominium and Rea were so helpful in making sure I got to the apartment without any problems, and organized for the lovely owner Ruza ("Rosa") to meet me at the bus station at 11PM the night I got in!!
The room itself is located off a main street. The street is accessible by car, however it's easier to get dropped on the main street and walk up (perhaps a bit more difficult with a suitcase on wheels).
Ruza is a wonderful lady whose only concern was my comfort. Her elderly mother greeted me on arrival with a cold drink and some watermelon. The room is in what seems to be a local residential area, and in the same apartment block as Ruza's family. I met much of the family and was always treated so kindly. Made me feel very at home.
Ruza and her family are proud of their country and want to make sure you experience all the beautiful things it has to offer. They were very helpful in letting me know what I should see, how to get around and helped me find my bearings.
I left for split very early on the morning of my departure and Ruza made sure she was up and helped me be on my way. Sent me off with a bag of apples grown on the family's apple tree for the long bus ride I had ahead.
Safe to say that this stay was more of an experience than just a place to sleep.
Would highly recommend staying with Ruza and her lovely family.
The location in Lapad is on a wonderful quiet street near 2 very good and affordable restaurants. The neighborhood is a REAL Croatian Family area. The bus stop to the Old City and a good Bakery is one block away! The small room is clean and simple with share bath. The bed is a single bed best for just one guest not a couple. You will be sharing the home with a Senior Mother and her middle aged Daughter. They are both kind and very quiet. The other other interior room is a small Kitchen which doubles as a Living Room. The Kitchen contains a sofa and a Television.
