Come and stay in our warm and friendly home, where you can enjoy a comfortable room all to yourself. Close to the scenic village of Lucan and just a short bus journey to Dublin. Enjoy our hospitality and experience Ireland from an Irish home.
A home isn't a place, it is a feeling. You'll be staying in a double room, in our home, where we will make you feel welcome and relaxed, as if you were staying in a friends house. It (email hidden)d in house, so it has that lived in feeling.
The room itself has a double bed, so it is ideal for a single person or a couple. We can also double the occupancy of the room as you can have the use of our very comfortable inflatable bed, which can easily sleep two adults.
You will also have free use of the main bathroom which contains a wash hand basin, toilet, bath and shower. Clean towels will be provided for all guests.
The kitchen and living room are downstairs, guests are welcome to share the use of both rooms [once you don't mind watching sport while Paul is there and 'Law and Order' while Roseanne is there] only joking, there is a selection of TV channels available as well as DVD's and a large choice of books to read from our personal library (on condition they remain here).
The only rooms off limits are our bedroom, which is adjacent to the main bathroom and our office which will be locked when not in use. Otherwise, please don't be shy to plop down beside us in the living room for a chat.
If you wish to cook your own food, you will have full use of the kitchen, we just ask that you don't consume food or beverages in the bedroom, thanks. There will be a shelf left free in the fridge for storage of food or beverages. When leaving we ask that you either take any food with you or dispose of it properly, we do have a compost bin, a recycle bin and a rubbish bin on site.
A few other small things. No smoking inside the house, there is a garden in the back, feel free to smoke there. No loud music or singing or reciting of plays in the bedroom after 10pm. If you happen to be returning to the house after enjoying some frivolities and it is late, can you be as quiet as possible, sshhh our neighbors are sleeping, thanks.
Other bits and bobs. You can have shared use of the following items: iron and ironing board (so that shirt looks good), washing machine (accidents happen) and a hair dryer (for those with hair). Internet access is available via wi-fi, just ask for the access details on arrival.
Everybody is different and we appreciate that. Roseanne and I are both open and friendly people, but if you would prefer to have your own space, we shall respect that fully.
Paul will be present during your stay as Paul works from home. Roseanne will be there in the mornings and evenings.
Please feel free to ask us any questions and we will do our best to answer them. We can give you advice on places to go, things to do and see.
The neighborhood is a residential one, the houses are semi-detached circa 1996. There are a number of public parks within walking distance of the neighborhood. There are numerous shops and restaurants and pubs all within walking distance of the house. The area is serviced well by Dublin bus.
Two minutes walk from the house you will find the bus stops for the following routes: 25A, 25B and 151.
All three will bring you into Dublin city in approx. 20 -30 minutes depending on traffic. The 25A and 25B will also bring you to Liffey Valley shopping center, Kilmainham, Heuston train station, O'Connell Street and Merrion Square.
Paul and Roseanne made our stay easy and extremely comfortable. They live in a lovely part of Ireland, and although it is a little removed from Dublin's CBD and airport Paul kindly offered to help us get around. Both he and Roseanne are very generous and I would recommend them unreservedly.
