enjoyed my stay in aptos, loved the beach and Steven was a kind host. thanks.
Steve is a very nice guy and the place was very comfortable and just an all-around great place to stay. There's a wooden deck out back with a redwood tree growing through the middle of it; I got addicted to sitting out there in the mornings, drinking my coffee and listening to the birds -- or watching the squirrels raid the bird feeder. The cat, La-La, is adorable and friendly (and she's a short hair -- I have a mild cat allergy but La-La is one of those who doesn't set off any reaction unless you're pretty severely allergic). Steve runs a laid-back kind of house; musician friends of his dropped by sometimes. I found out that Steve leads a small group of musicians in playing every weekend at a nearby hotel; I took my mother to hear them play and we had a great time. The location is only a few minutes off Highway One, but it feels like you've gotten away from city hustle and bustle for a peaceful retreat near the redwoods. I recommend it and I hope to stay there again.
The stay at Steve's house was awesome. Steve is such a nice guy and made us feel comfortable the minute we arrived. He invited us to his (email hidden) (which were great), we watched the World Cup together and had a wonderful evening with him and his friend at the house. The house and the room are very clean and Steve is very easy going. We really loved to stay there and can highly recommend it.
Tired of slick/sterile hotel/motel rooms? This charming home is the exact opposite - pleasant, comfortable, and somewhat quaint, gardens and plants, a deck backed by redwood forest and deep, canyon with a stream, bunnies in a cage and turtles in a pond, with the very best in appliances, airy, roomy spaces, a wonderfully comfortable bed, Artistically crafted environment - a pleasure to be in. And it's green! It's less than a minute to the freeway, but quiet as a country village. Steve is a considerate and accommodating host (whole house), or an easy and generous house-mate (room only). We were completing demanding medical treatment, and the house and Steve were an absolute haven.
Very kind soul, accommodating, welcoming... made the stay very comfortable...thank you
