Welcome to our house !
We are a french couple, who love to travel and meet people from everywhere. We have been living in Edmonton for a year.
We live in a small white townhouse in Old Strathcona with a very nice garden where we can rest and have barbecues in summer time. The house is quite old and may not be as practical as a brand new one, but it is a charming place and still confortable.
The house is very well located, in a quiet street but just few minutes walk from the vibrant Whyte Avenue and the 109 street for easy access to downtown. Shops, bars, restaurants, famous Farmer Market and University of Alberta are at walking distance. There is also plenty of bus stops and the LRT is few minutes walk away.
We particularly like the summer time in Edmonton, with all the festivals taking place in Old Strathcona and around. You will be able to borrow our bikes to discover the area and enjoy the River Valley which is just few blocks away !
The room is a private room with a comfortable double bed and natural light, that can fit two visitors. There is access to wireless Internet. Bathroom and the rest of house is shared. There is plenty of room in the kitchen for you to keep food and cook.
We like easy going atmospheres, cooking, sharing a drink and a dinner with friends. We will be happy to share a moment with you if you wish. We are also both working and quite busy, so you will also be able to stay by your own and do what you have to do !
We have a nice and funny white cat, so people with cat allergy are not recommended...
We keep the house clean and expect you to do the same.
Smoking outside only please.
Emeline & Etienne were fantabulous hosts! They were very hospitable, understanding of the late request, and immensely flexible with times. Their home is quaint, cozy, and super comfortable. The location is great (especially with it's proximity to delicious food establishments) and access to public transit is easy. Their cat is so cute!
I love this place. Emeline & Etienne are really sweet and easy-going. The place itself is situated nicely in the (only?) funky part of Edmonton - Strathcona/Whyte ave area. From there, lots of yoga studios and vegan/vegetarian eateries are in walking distance if that's your thing. It's also located close by to the U of A Hospital so it's ideal if you're a traveling health care professional.
They also have an awesome deaf albino cat named "Moon", and her name apparently has changed a few times because she doesn't hear them anyway. Hah.
The Little Townhouse was exactly what my husband, daughter and I hoped it would be for our two-night stay: quiet, clean & comfortable. Etienne and Emeline were both welcoming and we enjoyed visiting with them, but they also graciously gave us privacy. They had some friends over for drinks (don't worry, nothing rowdy!) and made sure we felt welcome to join, but did not pressure us when we preferred not to be social that evening. I appreciated them both and recommend their place to anyone.
Emeline and Etienne are perfect hosts. I stayed with them for 5 nights and really enjoyed my stay.
I stayed with Emeline & Etienne for a week- it was a cold blizzard outside but it was always nice and cozy inside their house! Their rental was just as described on airbnb- clean, welcoming and in a great neighborhood for walking to cafes etc. Emeline & Etienne were very friendly, I enjoyed talking with them and meeting their friends as well. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us~
Enjoy your winter travels & come visit on Vancouver Island sometime :)
Emeline and Etienne are both very kind people and good hosts they introduced us to everything we needed to know and we felt home very quick. The House was clean and everything was like discribed. The Busstop to get anywhere is just 10 minutes away, Same goes for safeway etc.
Thank you both again for having us.:)
Ps.: Your cat is adorable, i kinda miss her...:)
Overall, good stay, 8 days booked. Emeline and Etienne had simple rules to follow, an adorable cat - it was a good time!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time staying with Emeline and her kitty! She was a great hostess and let us have as much of the left over Halloween candy as we wanted :) The place is cosy, bright, and warm - perfect for a wintery day in Edmonton. It is walking distance to Whyte Avenue, and a easy commute (drive or bus) into downtown. We would definitely recommend staying here during your visit to the city!
Emeline & Etienne's home is a charming wooden house located in a quiet street near what is probably the best spot to hang out in Edmonton: Whyte avenue. But above all it's Emeline & Etienne who make it very welcoming. They're very friendly, talkative and full of advice to make your stay better. The place is clean and comfortable. So much better than a hotel.
Acceuil extraordinaire! Les propriétaires nous ont orienté pour notre séjour, ont été très sympathiques....
Ce fût une très agréable rencontre.
Bien situé, calme et en même temps proche des commodités et sorties.
