The Travelers Room is a private room inside our 1920's Mediterranean style home in a peaceful neighborhood. This room is for two or one, and is a cozy and comfortable. It is a short walking distance to the ocean, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Pacific Grove's coastal Victorian downtown.
This room has hosted International grad students from all over the world and features some of our folk art items collected from different countries visited as well as other found objects.
Guests will have access to a shared household bathroom connected to the room. Kitchen is available to fix a quick meal during dinner hours.
Also available is a comfortable living room and a separate den with a fireplace. I invite you to share my lovely home and would be available to answer any question you might have in the evenings and some mornings. Cooking amenties available.
This is a quiet neighborhood with a mix of home styles from Victorian to bungalow and has plenty of parking and is also a safe neighborhood. It is walking distance to many desirable places including our downtown farmers market once a week, a five minute drive to nearby trail head and a forested park if you enjoy a walk in the Monterey Pines, and most importantly we have a fabulous Bakery and Coffee shop downtown.
There is a bus nearby and a short taxi ride will bring you here from the airport about 15 minutes away. There is a wonderful and scenic path a minute or two ride from here. It goes quite a distance and the views are spectacular from crashing waves to the purple royal carpet succulents covering the shoreline in the spring. Bring your camera and be sure to have a quiet moment on an ocean cliff bench with the cypress trees for shade. Right now the sea lions and their pups are laying around on the beaches and can enjoy total protection via loyal docents.

Margaret is a welcoming, friendly host, and her home is very comfortable and well furnished. A great place to stay while exploring the Monterey Peninsula.
Margaret and her dog, Cody, were very easy company. My son and I popped in at the end of the day and were delighted with the accommodations and the location of her beautiful and clean home. We took a quick walk (downhill) to the rocky shoreline for a sunset picnic dinner and got some exercise on the walk back (uphill). Having frequently traveled to Pacific Grove many times for day trips, we would definitely consider staying again with Margaret to give us a little more time before we had to drive home. Thanks, Margaret!
Margaret lives in a quiet and really beautiful area in Pacific Grove. I really enjoyed staying at her place. She took good care of me, told me many stories about the area she lives in and I really liked spending time with her. She also has a lovely australian shepherd dog named Cody. And she provided me with some great chocolate!
Margaret was very nice and welcoming. Nothing but smiles! Her dog Cody was just as welcoming.
The place was walking distance from the Monterey Aquarium, and parking was plentiful and free. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
My stay at Margaret's home was so wonderful! My room was clean and comfortable, and Margaret provided lots of treats like fruit and chocolate. Margaret is extremely friendly and helpful, and had great recommendations for restaurants and activities in Monterey/Pacific Grove. The best part is that her home is a very very short walk from all the restaurants, the Monterey aquarium, and cannery row. I would highly recommend staying here!
