About This Listing
I am offering a studio apartment in Prospect Lefferts Garden, which is just a 5-minute walk to beautiful Prospect Park and just a 7-minute subway ride to Barclays Center.
This is a fairly large studio, and it comfortably fits up to 4 people. There is a fully functioning kitchen, with a microwave and a toaster, as well as a bathroom with a bathtub and shower. The studio includes a full size bed, and a sofa that converts into a queen size bed. There are three sizable closets, and you are more than welcome to use the sheets and towels.
Depending on your comfort level, you will have to share the two beds, if there are 4 of you. If you are a pair, but prefer to sleep separately, the couch is quite comfortable without being unfolded, so it's up to you.
You are free to use most share-able items in the apartment, but I will make sure to give you a thorough run through before I leave. Please do not use personal items, such as toothbrushes, razors and shower sponges. There is a washer and dryer in the building basement, so feel free to use that if the need comes up. You will also be able to use the WiFi, as long as you use your own device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.)
The building is close to the Q (Parkside Ave), B (Prospect Park), 2 and 5 (Winthrop Street) trains, all of which go into Manhattan. It is also very close to Prospect Park, the Botanical Gardens and the Prospect Park Zoo, should you be interested in exploring these parts of Brooklyn.
Interaction with Guests
I will not be present during your stay, but I will make sure to be available by phone or e-mail, should the need arise. I will not always be able to meet you at the apartment, if your check-in time conflicts with my availability. I apologize for that in advance, and I will be sure to include printed instructions and figure out a way to get the apartment keys to you safely.
There are 3 subway stations within walking distance, which service the B, Q, 2 and 5 trains.
Other Things to Note
Because I live in this apartment, and only rent it out on the weekends, I am not always able to accept last minute requests. Feel free to message me if you do have a last minute trip, but please be understanding if I do decline.
While there is a cleaning fee included in the nightly rate, I do expect you to treat my home with respect. I generally do not hire a cleaning service and do most of the cleaning myself, which takes time, money and energy.
I would prefer that you did not wear your outdoor shoes inside the house. If you've seen some of these Brooklyn streets, you will understand why.
Please do not place duffel bags, suitcases or bags on the couch or bed. If it has touched the subway floor, it does not belong on my furniture.
You are welcome to use share-able bathroom items, such as shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, etc. but please do not use personal items, such as my toothbrush, razor or shower sponge.
Please make sure to clean any extra debris, such as crumbs, grease or hair, that you may have left behind. You are free to use the vacuum in the main area and other cleaning supplies under the bathroom and kitchen sink.
As mentioned above, this is my primary residence, so everything in the apartment belongs to me and is used by me. I make sure to clean everything before and after every guest's arrival, but I still expect a certain level of cleanliness from the people I host.
Faina was a wonderful host. The neighborhood of Crown Heights is a different world from, say, Park Slope, but Faina's apartment is ideally situated just a few minutes' walk from Prospect Park and the subway lines. Faina's apartment is spacious, clean, quiet, easy to access on the first floor, and has two large comfortable beds; perhaps most valuable of all was how flexible she was with check in and check out times... We felt right at home and are extremely appreciative of how welcoming Faina was to a family with two little girls, which is never easy. Thank you for everything Faina, and let us know if you wind up going to New Orleans after all!
I stayed at Faina's apartment for the Brooklyn Half-Marathon this past weekend and am SO glad I did! The apartment was exactly as described and was spotless when I arrived. I immediately felt welcome in her cozy studio. Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet Faina but she was very easy to get in touch with and left a great guide to the apartment. I'd absolutely recommend staying here!
A great place to set up shop and experience the city. We especially loved its proximity to Prospect Park-the Botanical Gardens alone were worth the trip. It was conveniently located between two subway stops, opening up both Manhattan and Brooklyn to our explorations. The neighborhood was friendly and alive. Faina provide us an immaculate apartment and all the information necessary to travel and feed ourselves while we were there. A great place. We would come back to stay there in a second.
The apartment is very clean and comfortable and cozy and although Faina was not around to meet us in person she did leave plenty of detailed instructions and tips to ensure that we had an enjoyable and trouble-free stay. Highly recommended!
Faina was an excellent host!! She was prompt with our check-in, she communicated with great ease, the apartment was completely spotless, and was super convenient for our needs. The building itself is absolutely beautiful and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to explore Brooklyn or anywhere else in New York City as the subway access is very close. Would highly recommend!!
Faina was a great host. She was able to meet my boyfriend and I at two separate times to ensure we were able to drop our bags off. The neighborhood was very convenient and we were able to easily get around. Faina was also very responsive with any questions or concerns. Couldn't recommend her enough. Thank you!
Faina was a great host. She is very nice, had a great list of instructions for the house and was very helpful in answering our questions. It's a bit of a trek into the city but the apartment is very close to the Q stop which is a plus. Overall a great experience. Thank you!
