Geovanni and his friend were disrespectful but I tried in every way possible to accomodate their needs, they were homeless and airbnb called my cell to ask me to accomodate them as their booking was cancelled last second on them. It’s just that Geovanni and his boyfriend refused to use sheets on the bedding and did not adhere to rules such as not smoking inside the shared home, flushing toilet after use, etc., poop on shared toilet seat, then they were caught and admitted to stealing bottles of wine and champagne, this happened more than once, but we are all good, people have these kind of days, me still accommodating them, then him and his boyfriend get caught wearing the other roommates clothes!?!? a certain type of host might be into that? I personally would have been cool with lending a couple jackets but this time the roommate in the bedroom they entered to take his expensive hanging clothes in the closet, was not too happy to see non-showering people take his clothes on their travels about the town. They complained to airbnb when other guy asked for them to respect his stuff, I begged airbnb to let me resolve the culture clash, by accommodating the roommate elsewhere, and upgrading Geovanni +1, to the entire apartment rental since I was out of town and needed a solution, but they still kept escalating their claim with airbnb, I deferred to airbnb to pull the plug, I was trying to earn 5 stars, I was going to wine and dine these guys, get them uber pools to cool places and have their laundry done for them, and send my housekeeper to get them soem thriftstore clothes and food. But airbnb gave them the boot and re-opened my calendar, once they were kicked out by airbnb, no refund, they took 3 more hrs to finally leave, under supervison so they didn’t steal anything else on the way out, both guys had 1 backpack each and could have left when prompted to by airbnb, and we were as patient with them as possible, I was going to let them be there as long as they needed, no loss to me, but other guy ended up having to cut the internet at around 10pm, which is around when they left to their new accomodations I asked airbnb to make for them as to not put them on the street upon their own request to cancel with a refund for the remaining nights. They had zero reviews before mine, so I am not sure how valid worst Airbnb service ever can be applied to this, it’s innaccurate, I was problem solving, upgrading, adding to the experience to earn the 5 stars, I would have kept going, stopped by airbnb per their complaint escalation.. The deal was that Geovanni lost his wallet before arriving and his companion had no money, both guys had 1 bag each, traveling light and simple, awesome west coast travelers, but these guys seem to want more from a budget airbed listing that includes internet, eggs, and coffee, this is certainly the risk you take with economy and shared spaces or non-private spaces. Rules are rules though. These gentlement might be well suited on your organic farm or winery as they venture north, but if you work hard for 5 stars and provide in the city luxury, and relentless, unlimited support above and beyond until someone else stops you. you probably will want to wait until these guys mature more before they quadruple your workload and risk you a bad rating, as they progress and learn to expand their couch surfing zen in shared affordable luxury spaces or pony up for private rooms/entire homes where they can have more privacy and privilege.
