We didn't actually get to stay in the hut, Dale found us an apartment in town which was ideal, spacious and really central. We never got to meet Dale in the end but he kept in touch with us the whole time and if there were any problems he was easily contactable.
Dale was extraordinarily welcoming immediately upon our arrival to his property and personally gave us a tour of each and every hut as all were available. He briefly explained his experience building them and all available amenities nearby. The plot of land where they are built is situated atop St. Ives very near to its highest point, which is also a monument. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who isn't dead.
We came in mid November, winds and rain and cold ! Dale was very welcoming and let us pick our hut, the huts have everything you need and are equipped with good heaters and hot water bottles so very comfortable winter camping! the loos are a short walk from the huts which in the dark would have been chilly and a little wet but thats what comes with proper camping, the kitchen was well equipped for a good fry up in the morning after our drive into town for a swim! hot showers, amazing views, milk and fresh eggs provided. All good!
Dale's St. Ives Shepard huts are exactly as described in words and pictures; the interior of each hut is lovingly decorated and equipped with candles, kettle, tea and cups for that first cup of morning tea in complete peace and quiet. We stayed on a wet and windy October day and yet the hut was cosy and kept us warm through the night - haben't slept that well in ages. It is the perfect place to enjoy some quiet time with lovely views and with St Ives being literally down the road. Dale welcomed us warmly and cheerfully...a very special place and highly recommended.
Charming and quaint, this is an ideal, more affordable place to stay with very friendly and welcoming hosts. The Cabins are located atop a field with views down to St Ives and the sea which are a 20 minute stroll down a country lane. There's also a very good local pub which is also a short 15/20 minute walk away which serves great food and local ales. The cabins themselves are very cute and feel like a lovely little hideaway. The shower/toilets are perfectly private and there's access to washing up and cooking facilities. The host's couldn't be more hospitable and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
Couldn't recommend it enough.
Dale was very helpful and was there to meet us when we arrived, he kindly brought us fresh milk from the supermarket. The accommodation is as advertised and is clean, warm and comfy and being so high up there is a great view of the St, Ives Porthminister area. If your into Glamping this is great all year round accommodation
