Our stay was as wonderful as always. Ann is so thoughtful leaving gifts and food to enhance our stay. We hope we will get to stay there again in the future!
We arrived in Charlottesville on one of the coldest days of the year and then it snowed twice as much as the weather forecast called for, but we felt perfectly warm and cozy at the Do Drop Inn. The house is lovely, light-filled and comfortable. The fact that it is set up off the street and surrounded by trees makes it feel private. The location allowed us to easily walk through pouring snow to get a great cup of coffee, a hearty breakfast and stock up at a grocery store on the way back. I felt like Ann really went the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of in the unexpected weather. I would love to stay there again in the spring to take advantage of the beautiful back yard!
We had another wonderful stay at the Do Drop Inn. Ann did a great job of communicating with us and ensuring that everything was taken care of for our trip during a very cold weekend. We checked in to a wonderful breakfast bread, a bottle of wine, and a couple of Dave Matthews CD's. We stayed with our parents and felt right at home.
This is a great place to stay as it is in between the UVA campus and downtown mall, and of course we love being able to have our dog with us. He really enjoyed playing in the fenced in backyard that he could get to through the doggie door. Thanks so much for the hospitality!
My sister-in-law, daughter and I were very pleased with the Do Drop Inn. It was just as described -- cozy, comfortable, and Ann had left a few thoughtful goodies and clear instructions so we felt very welcomed and comfortable in the house. Charming is an appropriate description of the home! Everything went very smoothly. The home is in a modest neighborhood that is conveniently located between the UVA campus and the Downtown mall. Parking is on the street, but it's a side street so that was no problem. We especially enjoyed relaxing with a cup of tea after a day of exploring the area. I highly recommend this listing.
This was a slightly different Airbnb experience for me as this is not an apartment the host makes available, it is clearly Ann's home. And what a lovely home it is. Not having met Ann, I feel I know her through her agreeable aesthetics and the thoughtful touches she makes for her guest to feel at home - down to an invitation to use the extensive and well organized spice rack in the nicely appointed kitchen. Ann's home is nicer than the neighborhood in which it sits but after an initial qualm I found the neighborhood to be quiet and not a cause for concern. If you arrive at night you may want a flashlight when getting the key from the lock box. One caution - I wasn't familiar with the "chill drawer" feature in the frig and found that it froze my egg salad and cream cheese. Learned something new. I am hoping to stay at Ann's home again in future travels to Charlottesville for as long as she makes it available.
The Do Drop Inn is a fine option if two couples are looking for a comfortable place with ample space. Four of us stayed over NYE, and we really enjoyed our experience and the generous goodies provided by Ann. The price was a bit steep for the surrounding neighborhood and proximity, but I would still recommend it to others.
Ann is a great host. She made us feel welcome and left us treats. The house was close to Main Street and the Downtown Mall. House is clean, quiet and warm.
