Beautiful and walkable

Guests say this area is scenic and it’s easy to get around.
A design-led beach bungalow for one or two guests in Jan Juc, featured in The Design Files 2025 “10 Coastal Stays…”. Just 100m from shops, 200m from the coastal track and 250m from pristine beaches, it pairs a private deck, deep Japanese soaking tub, kitchenette, workspace, fast Wi-Fi and complimentary bikes with easy access to Torquay and Bells Beach.

The space
Sun Set Jan Juc is a thoughtfully designed guest house, built in December 2024, for a solo stay or romantic coastal escape. Light timber finishes, distinctive tilework, a mustard-yellow couch and an open floor-to-ceiling bookshelf create a warm, design-focused studio layout. Highlight windows look into the gum treetops from the breakfast area, bathtub and bed—an inviting setting for stargazing at night and the sound of waves.

The bedroom has a queen bed with a rotation of luxury linens, 1,000-thread-count cotton sheets, a small wardrobe, hangers, iron and ironing board, under-bed storage, extra bedding and towels. The open bookshelf separates the sleeping area from the kitchen/lounge; books are available to enjoy during your stay. A projector lets you cast from your phone when connected to the bungalow Wi-Fi, with access to your own viewing apps or Spotify. There is also a TV, UEBOOM Bluetooth sound system, air conditioning and heating.

The kitchenette is equipped with a double induction cooktop, microwave, air fryer, mini fridge with freezer, hot water kettle, toaster, blender, coffee maker, cooking basics, dishes, wine glasses and place settings for two. Enjoy meals at the booth seating, dining table or outside at the café table. Coffee and pantry basics are available for your use, and a dedicated workspace supports a little work between beach days.

The bathroom includes a rain-head shower, a deep Japanese-style soaking bathtub, washer and dryer, shampoo, conditioner, hot water, thick cotton towels and Epsom bath salts. Outdoors, enjoy a hot/cold shower, deck chairs, outdoor dining furniture and a private deck area.
couch.

Guest access
You will have private access to the guest house, its deck and outdoor area via a private gate from the breezeway. Self check-in is available by keypad.

The breezeway between the front and back gates is shared and is where beach gear, the complimentary bikes and the Level 2 EV charger are kept. Free parking is available on the premises, either in the driveway or on the street.

Other things to note
Double-glazed windows and extra insulation were included for comfort and energy efficiency. Cleaning is available during your stay.

For the projector, connect your phone to the bungalow Wi‑Fi, then sign in to your preferred viewing app or Spotify. For voice search or help, hold the coloured dots on the remote.

The washer/dryer combination is best run while you are out enjoying the beach rather than while sleeping, as it can be loud. Extra towels are in the drawer under the couch.
