About this listing
Villa Anna is a large villa built in the 60's, surrounded by a lush garden of 1500 sqm, shaded by big pine trees. The apartment for rent is located on the ground floor of the villa, has a floor area 55 sq.m. on one level, no stairs inside. From the outside area, which has stone benches and an outdoor table with umbrella, you enter the large and bright living area (30 sq.m.) with kitchenette with 4 burner stove, electric oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. The living area leads to a hallway, where there’s a single bed, and from which you can go to the bathroom and the bedroom (ATTENTION! hallway, bathroom and bedroom are basements, but with transom window). In the bedroom there are a double and a single bed. In addition to the shower located in the bathroom, there is an outdoor shower (hot and cold).
The house can accommodate a maximum of 4 people, and is ideal for a family with children (less suitable for two couples, as for the layout of the beds). The organization of the interior spaces is very clear looking at the floor plan loaded in the images. The property is accessed by an automatic gate (remote control supplied). Private parking in the garden (not covered, it’s in the yard, max 2 cars).
Usually Villa Anna is inhabited: with regard to the use of outdoor spaces, some are of exclusive property of the apartment for rent, others pertaining exclusively the rest of the house, while others (garden, pergola, etc.) are shared. Villa Anna’s garden is shaded by many beautiful tall trees.
The interior of the apartment is silent, however from the garden you may feel a little road noise, especially during the peak season.
As in every garden, there are mosquitoes. You will find everything to keep them away in the apartment.
No pets allowed.
The Villa has no tv antenna. The TV in the apartment can therefore only be used with the DVD player.
AMENITIES AND FACILITIES: wifi internet, dishwasher, kitchen linen, refrigerator, electric oven, toaster, coffee maker "nespresso", kitchenware and kitchen utensils, outdoor table with umbrella and chairs, sun loungers, BBQ, bed linen, blankets, towels, outdoor shower (hot-cold), hair dryer, dehumidifier, washing machine, drying rack, iron, ironing board, parking, garden, television with DVD player (no TV channels - no antenna).
The property is located in Gaeta in the so-called Contrada Catena, scenic residential area, 10 minutes walking distance (600 metres) from the beautiful beaches of Fontania and Ariana. The convenience of reaching 2 amazing beaches on foot without having to take the car will give an added value to your holiday! ATTENTION! Keep in mind that the path to the beach is not completely flat and includes a part downhill, not suitable for old people or with walking difficulties! A car will be useful to go in Gaeta center and have some shopping, and to see all the 10 beaches of Ulisse’s Coast, or to organize daily trips to Naples and Rome, Caserta, Pompeii, Sperlonga, etc. In the immediate vicinity of Villa Anna is a bus stop that connects to the center of Gaeta with line A of local transport (Cervone) and by bus Cotral Formia-Terracina. The frequency of these buses is not optimal, however, and I do not recommend relying on them. The nearest grocery store is 1 km away. The city center 2 km, while the old town is 4 km. Satellite photos show the geographic location of Villa Anna (purple dot).
Tips and activities: Gaeta is a great starting point to organize daily trips to Rome or Naples, Pompeii, or to visit the Royal Palace of Caserta, Sperlonga, Campo Soriano, the Abbey of Monte Cassino. Naples and Rome city center can easily be reached by train from the railway station of Formia-Gaeta. Gaeta means beautiful beaches within walking distance from home, and other equally beautiful reachable by car, but it also means walking in the Natural Park of Monte Orlando, on top of which you will find the funeral mausoleum of Lucius Munatius Plancus: do you think this structure, built in 22 BC, is the mausoleum of the Roman era best preserved in the world, older of the Colosseum! In Gaeta you’ll find pizzerias where you can taste the neapolitan pizza, as well as restaurants where you can taste the fish catch of the day!
Guests have access to the apartment on the ground floor of the Villa. Regarding the use of outdoor spaces, some are the exclusive property of the apartment just described, others pertaining exclusively to the rest of the house, and still others (the pergola, courtyard) are shared with the owners.
Interaction with Guests
I am often present in the house during the stay of the guests, if I’m absent for any reason, I make sure to be available by phone and have a trusted person who can intervene on the spot if necessary. If present on site, I am available to interact pleasurly with the host, to give advice on the permanence or solve any problems.
The main advantage of your stay at Villa Anna is being able to go to the beach without taking the car. In fact, two of the beaches of Gaeta ( Ariana Fontania ) are within walking distance with about 10 minutes walk. Keep in mind that the path to the beach is not completely flat and includes a part downhill, not suitable for old people or with walking difficulties! We suggest you rent a car or a scooter to go into town to shop, eat out, etc.
The connection to public transport is with the A line of local Gaeta public transport.
The connection with the Formia-Gaeta railway station is with the Formia-Terracina bus, (Cotral Lines), who has a request stop right in front of Villa Anna, on State Road 213 Flacca at the intersection with Via Fontania. The frequency of these buses is not optimal, however, and I do not recommend relying on them.
For those arriving by car, the garden has a private courtyard that can accommodate up to 2 cars.
For smokers, please smoke only outside the house, possibly using the ashtray.
About the Host, Federico
My name is Federico, I was born 25 years ago in Rome, but my roots make me come back often to Gaeta, to enjoy the sea, the sun and my home.
I graduated in Dentistry at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Roma, and now work at a dental practice in Rome.
Among my many passions is the one for the welcome and hospitality, which I try to always maintain the highest level so that those who visit Villa Anna feel as possible at home.
