3-bedroom village home in the historic center of Assisi
A private courtyard across the street from a monastery is the centre of this holiday townhouse apartment in Umbria. A single bedroom upstairs on your left looks out on the courtyard while a spacious vaulted living room opens up to your right as you enter. Beyond the living room is a brand new kitchen with a breakfast counter and beyond that a unique and romantic dining room with vaulted stone ceiling and even your own grotto leading down into the soft stone heart of this miraculous city of art and spirituality--a perfect spot for storing the marvelous wines of the region you will want to try while visiting! Upstairs from the living room is a library/reading corner for curling up with a book, the bathroom with shower, and a corridor leading to the master double bedroom with queen-sized bed and a second bedroom nook with full-sized bed. Comfortably sleeping 3-5, furnished with elegant Italian contemporary design pieces chosen for your comfort and to contrast with the cool stone walls of this year-round center of attraction. We also offer a special spa packet with the nearby NUN relais and spa, so please ask about the discounted offer for our guests.
Please smoke only outside the house, thank you. Because of the open staircases, the house is not appropriate for children under 6 or for persons with mobility issues. The final housecleaning fee is 40 euro. We do request a 150 euro security deposit on arrival which is returned to you on departure, thank you!
Andrea met us on time, took us to the apartment and showed us where to park, etc. The parking is a 10 minute hike up the mountain, but the city is restricted and there are no other options. It was good to get the excercise and experiencing Assisi means walking hills! The apartment is in a perfect location on a quiet street. The pictures are very accurate and if anything, the mid-evil charm of the place is even more than in the pictures. Ask them to show you the secret tunnel used almost 1000 years ago. Very cool! We will be back!!
As respectful admire the Transformation of Medieval architecture and modern design interior, it has been a great pleasure to stay in Sophie's / Mariella's apartment.
Unfortunately, our home aesthetic feelings disturbed by missing / incorrect light sources in the beautiful room. Also miss the kitchen individual tools such as oven, in order to meet the need for a well prepared meal. But we would like to come again.

We were welcomed in a lovely way by Andrea. He was so helpful with regard to sorting out the taxi for our return as there was a big peace march going on, so had to sort a different pick up. Sophie was kind enough to give us information prior to our arrival. We just loved the house and the location was perfect for our needs. The restaurant next door was delightful and very helpful with dealing with vegetarians! We just loved every moment of our Assisi stay. Many thanks Sophie, Andrea and Airbnb. Martin and Silva
If you are planning a trip to Assisi, you MUST stay at this apartment. Sophie and Andrea were amazing hosts and very accommodating. The pictures do not do it justice. It is a beautiful place. If we get the chance, we will definitely come back and hopefully stay here again.
We were met at our train by Sophie's friend Mariella, who drove us to the apartment and showed us everything. She picked us up promptly for our return and is really a nice, even affectionate woman. The photos do not do the apartment justice, because they don't show the art pieces now in the kitchen and living room,or the big comfy easy chair. Mariella and Sophie are modern art and furniture lovers, which are combined with older pieces such as framed prints and art books. As others said, everything very clean, with a sparely-equipped but adequate kitchen for breakfast and cooking, if you call heating your restaurant left-overs or boiling some pasta "cooking."
Relaxing yet energizing. Spacious and very clean. Living room, kitchen and dining room with stone vaulted ceilings and stone walls have unique atmosphere. Reading corner, bedroom and bathroom upstairs are bright and sunny in the afternoon. Contemporary design pieces, we love, are comfortable and functional. Combination of old and modern art and design is impressive.
Useful info to get oriented and make sightseeing in the town or around were prepared on the table. On arrival Andrea was navigating our car driving in front of us from Santa Maria degli Angeli. You can't park just in front of Casa Serena but a short walk from the place is modern and safe parking site for a very affordable daily price.

I've been living in the Spoleto area for more than 25 years and have been helping friends who have holiday homes in the area find great guests who will enjoy staying here for the past five years. I make sure the houses are ready for your arrival and are always even nicer than you'd expected. I want to ensure you have a great holiday and come to love and hopefully return to Umbria whenever you can. I also have a holiday cottage in upstate New York on a golf course on Otsego Lake, close to Cooperstown, on a property I share with my brother.
