My spare bedroom is perfect for a weekend visit to NYC or a month stay! It has its own bathroom and plenty of light. Hardwood floors, lots of closet space, a full sized bed, and access to a full kitchen, living room, and balcony with Manhattan view!

The Space

Furnished bedroom and bathroom for rent weekly or monthly. Neighborhood is quiet, safe, and near plenty of restaurants and stores. Utilities included. Wireless internet. Bedroom contains one full size bed, shelves, chair, bedside dresser, and a large closet. Alarm clock and bed lamp. Room has its own bathroom with jacuzzi tub/shower and all new fixtures. Bedroom and bathroom are connected to a shared kitchen and living room (see photos) with balcony overlooking the Manhattan skyline. New condominium has laundry in basement and free gym with treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, and weight machines. The N and Q subway trains are only 5 blocks away. Commute into midtown Manhattan is approximately 23 minutes. Room has hardwood floors and plenty of light with double windows that open. Room also has independent air conditioning unit (cool or heat). Room is clean with good light. Kitchen has gas stove and is stocked with everything you need to cook. Windows open for fresh air. Hardwood floors and plenty of living room space, plus a balcony that looks at Manhattan. Living room has eating table, large couch, rug, coffee table, and upright Boston piano.
DIRECTIONS: Take the N or Q train into Astoria, Queens, and get off at the Broadway stop. Walk north on 31st Street (train will be above you) and take a left onto 31st Avenue. Walk west for four blocks and the apartment will be on the right side after you cross Crescent Street. The name of the building is the Amalfi. The apartment is on the 5th floor, apartment 5A. There is a 31st Place and 31st Terrace, so be careful not to get confused. You want 31st Avenue!

Guest Access

An in-door gym, elevator, jacuzzi bathtub, a Boston Steinway piano, balcony overlooking Manhattan, and the subway is just 5 blocks away to take you to Times Square in only 25 minutes.

Interaction with Guests

I work late and often so sometimes my guests don't even know I am there. If they need something I am always a phone call, email or text message away. I live in the other bedroom that has its own bathroom so my guests get plenty of privacy in their own bedroom and bathroom.

The Neighborhood

This neighborhood is quiet and has everything you need with plenty of bars and great restaurants just blocks away. There are running trails along the river and over the bridges into Manhattan. The subway is a few blocks away and can take you to Times Square in only 25 minutes.

Getting around

There are plenty of buses and the subway to take you anywhere you want to go, as well as taxi thoroughfare straight into Manhattan. Plenty of parking if you have a car or rental car. You can take the subway from JFK airport ($65 by taxi) or the bus and subway from LaGuardia ($10 by taxi) airport or the NJ Trainsit and subway from Newark airport ($85 taxi).

Other Things to Note

I am an amazing host. Just read my reviews. I go out of my way to make my gusts feel welcome and make sure they have a great NYC experience.

  • Michael was the best host we could ever asked for. The whole condo was really clean and looked exactly like on the photos.
It takes you only 20/25 minutes from michael's apartment to times square so it is really close to the city.
We loved staying with Michael and he is an amazing person. If we are in America again we will definitely stay at Michael's again!

  • All the experience has been gratifying. A beautiful experience, a nice neighborhood and an apartment perfect. There is not in the middle of Manhattan, but this allow us know Astoria, Queens. Thanks Mike

  • Michael was a very generous and warm host and he made us feel very welcome. His home was just like being at our home and offered us everything we could possibly ask for. The proximity to downtown was so close, it was no different than staying anywhere on Manhattan. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • It has ALL been said before and nothing has changed. Great location, great accommodation and a great host. If we come back to New York that will be the place to stay for us. Thank you Michael for making our first time and New York a wonderful experience.

  • My girlfriend and I stayed at Michael's condo for 5 nights in May. This was our first experience with AirBnB so we didn't know what to expect. In the end everything was so great that we were sorry to leave New York and Michael. His place is very clean and neat. The room is comfort with more than enough place for two and you also get the private bathroom which is definetely a big advantage. Location was perfect for us because Astoria is peacefull neighborhood, very quite and safe and in less than 30 minutes you can get to any place on Manhattan. The subway station is 5 minutes walking from the condo and the trains are running 24/7.
Michael was a perfect host, he helped us with everything and all his advices were very usefull. He is takeing care on every detail and is also interesting and funny guy so in the end we were only sorry that because of our limited time, we didn't hang out more with him. I can honestly recommend staying at this place to anyone. Mike big big thank you. I really hope to see you again!

  • I stayed at Michael’s place for a month. First of all, the house is beautiful, even more beautiful than I expected. I loved especially the kitchen, I cooked often, is large and well equipped (Italian guarantee! :-) ). The living room is large and comfortable and also has a great balcony with a beautiful panaroma, I took great photos from there. The room is quite large, and having a private bathroom is priceless. We also used the laundry to wash clothes and towels that Mike gave us, it was easy and cheap.
The neighborhood is very nice, residencial, with a couple of streets full of restaurants and some shops. I loved Astoria because, although it is less “full of life” compared to Brooklyn, I think is safer and also the N and Q train are very convenient for moving toward the center than others trains.
I felt as my home at Michael's place. Michal is a GREAT host…totally true…He’s not much in the house because he works a lot, but he made sure to provide everything we needed and so much more!! (concert tickets, NBA tickets, gift for my father, document prints ... ). He's very respectfull but also fun. We also had a nice evening together!
I totally recommend this place!! it is much better than living in hotels!

  • We stayed at Michael's place for 5 nights while we were visiting NYC. It was a great location - very close to subway stations that will take you pretty much anywhere you want to go. His condo was very clean and our stay was very comfortable. He made us feel at home. Thanks for everything!

  • First of all: Es war ein toller Urlaub.
Sollte man weitere Infos brauchen: Michael fragen.
Inser nächster Besuch wird sicherlich wieder bei Michael sein (jedoch später, da Temperaturen im Minusbereich nicht so toll sind).

  • I stayed 3 nights and it was a fantastic choice. The place was amazing, he had everything at your disposal and it was very clean! The private bathroom was brilliant and the I room heater worked wonders!

Safe, secure and easy to get to the subway (even through the snow). A gym, bars and restaurants give you many options as well.

Michael was a class host and even though he wasn't around for long, he answered everything I had to ask and was prompt! Which to me arriving from afar was essential.
