Stay here if you are looking for an authentic, safe, central house to share with really nice people. The location is within walking distance of the historic center as well as la Roma and la condesa. There are good authentic taco trucks, fruit stands, and coffee shops nearby. The house has a very open feel, lots of light, in a safe building, off the Main Street so not noisy. The hosts are good people, friendly, helpful and inclusive. I highly recommend staying here.

If you're looking for smth impressive in terms of service, that's probably not an option. But! If you want essential things and conditions during your stay, believe me, you won't regret about booking this room. I agree with the previous reviews oh so much: it's not about the room--here is everything about the coolest guys who live in the apartment and make you feel like you're at home (even if home is thousands of miles away). Im so happy to know you all! I needed the basic things like to have place to stay, take shower, cook some food and have a good sleep. I had it all. On top of that, I spend time with the true artists, had a lot of fun with them, and got helped with everything I needed. Guys!! Much love to you and hope to see you again! Hasta muy pronto!

This apartment is very charming (quite clearly the home of artists), has everything you need to be comfortable and the location is perfect for exploring the city. There's tons to do and see in walking distance of the apartment; it's just a few minutes walk to the main area of the Historic Center. I had booked a few tours to do during my stay and most of them had meeting points that were within a ten-minute walk of the apartment. For exploring other neighborhoods, it's easy to get the metro, an uber or a taxi from the apartment. But the best, most important part and the real reason you should book your stay here is that the hosts are just beautiful, warm, kind, fun and interesting people who will help you fall in love with Mexico City (and them!). I stayed with them on what was my first trip to Mexico City and they were so incredibly generous with their time and knowledge. Because I stayed here, I have some amazing new friends and I am newly obsessed with the city in a way that is much more intimate than had I not met these three and their friends (and the very sweet cats, of course). Just trust me, you want to stay here. My life is now altered in the best way that travel is capable of doing that, in large part thanks to Ricky, Sara and Esaú. I'm so grateful for their kindness and generosity.

The perfect Airbnb experience. The amazing hosts soon became friends. The room was comfortable, and the location was excellent. Great value. Highly recommended! The hosts welcomed me into their group of roommates and friends. I had so much fun with them. We went out for dinner, drinks, and they took me to an amazing theatre performance done by some of their friends. They gave me great advice about the city, the places I wanted to visit, and getting around the city. When they were available, we spent time hanging out in the apartment talking about everything. The hosts and their friends are all artists, super interesting, well educated, and extremely nice and friendly. The "hosts" are Ricardo, plus his roommates (one woman and two men), all of whom made me feel welcome and comfortable. I think it would be equally comfortable for a woman guest (I'm a man). Communication was great, especially once I booked and Airbnb sent Ricardo's telephone and we could chat. Since I'm allergic to cats, they kept the cats in another part of the house and made sure the common spaces were very clean (it worked and I had no problems). The apartment itself is so cool. It's in a great, central, safe location, 5 minutes to the Metro subway and 10 minutes from Bellas Artes. Tons of restaurants and taco stands nearby. Easy to get around either walking, biking or by public transportation. Location is close to the tourist spots but the the neighborhood itself is not touristy. Felt to me like Midtown Manhattan. The room was very comfortable and simple. The bed was cozy and the room was really quiet all day and night. The private bathroom is small, but is clean and has good hot water. The room is by the kitchen--it's the former "servant's quarters" you see in many Latin American homes--so it's separate from the hosts' bedrooms, which is nice. The room has a desk and dresser, as shown in the photo. Wifi is good in the house, but not perfect in the bedroom. It is easy and comfortable to hang out in the dining room and get strong wifi. I planned to visit Mexico City just to see historical sites, and was planning to get a room just for sleeping. But the friendship and fun of the amazing "hosts" completely changed my visit. Not only did I see some museums and ancient ruins, but I met new friends, and got to know the city, the country and the culture through these awesome people. I've visited 25 countries over 20 years, and used Airbnb many times. This was truly one of the best travel experiences I've had. It was my first time renting a room in someone's apartment (usually, I rent the whole apartment), but it was such a great experience, I will do it again. Of course, it's only as awesome as your hosts, and in this case--it was really awesome.

Ricardo was a fantastic host. He was very open to helping me ensure I arrived safely from the airport to the apartment and met me early in the morning to welcome me to his home. The apartment is very spacious and the room itself is plenty big for one person (the photos do make it look a little smaller than it actually is). A big plus is definitely the private full bathroom as well. One thing the listing does not explicitly mention is all the other wonderful people who live in the apartment with Ricardo. They are a group of young artists, each of them full of life and incredibly welcoming of every and all guests. They tend to spend a lot of time with one another during meals and always invited me to join them as well. Each of them knows the city pretty well and had ready suggestions of new places for me to visit. And if you're feeling you need some time to yourself after a big day of traveling through the city or work, the room is situated far enough away from the common areas to provide you a quiet space of your own. The apartment is also in a very nice location. As mentioned in the listing, there's a bus stop right outside the building and two different metro stops just a couple blocks away. It's about a 15-minute walk from the Palacio de Bellas Artes and another 10 from the historic center. I feel fortunate not only to have gotten to stay at such a nice, central apartment, but to get to meet such wonderful individuals. I highly recommend staying with Ricardo and his group!
