Our family has owned and vacationed in this home for 60 years and seen 4 generations. The wood paneled walls and ceilings are original from 1949. It is often said in fun, "if these walls could talk, no , really!". We all consider it home away from home and are thrilled to share just that feeling with our guests. Some guests include the very first Astronauts as depicted in the movie "The Right Stuff".
No smoking indoors. Check in time is 3pm and check out time is 11am. If you confirm reservation, please Read, Accept and Abide by the rules that are written in The House Manual.
Our family had a very nice weekend at your home on cocoa beach. We loved that we could walk out the back door and walk into the ocean. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very neat overall. It was nice to have condiments and things available for us to use. Thank you for your hospitality. Next time we are in cocoa beach we will stay there again
Willis' house is spotless, well laid out and furnished and the beach access cannot be beat. We found every thoughtful touch necessary to make our stay wonderful. Our communication with Willis was easy and frequent and we will absolutely be back again!
Thank you Willis for a wonderful stay
We were a family of 6 with 4 adult children and the house is perfect
The ocean is rocking you sleep as well as your pre breakfast swim
We enjoyed every minute and also our day at cap canaveral. The house was perfect for Christmas partying as well as the Baptist church nearby interesting and wellcoming for us agnostic and catholic.
We highly recomand and for sure come back.
We can only rave about our weekend at the Willis' oceanfront Cocoa Beach house. When they say oceanfront, they mean it! As soon as you walk in the house, the panoramic views of the beach are breathtaking. The Willis' were very gracious allowing us to host our grandson's first birthday party with our family. Our guests were all very impressed and interested in potential future rentals. We have stayed at other rentals and were amazed by how much is provided with the house. It truly felt like home. All your needs were anticipated. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and condiments and loads of pots, pans, bowls, baking-ware - you name it. We even had some very nice beer maybe left over from the previous guest. We made sure to do the same. :-) There were tons of beach towels, a kayak, a hammock, several boogie boards, beach umbrellas and lots of chairs. Had we known, we would not have brought much for the party other than the decorations and food. The evenings are the best! Relaxing on the back patio overlooking the water or walking on the beach and having it practically to yourself is priceless. I am a local and so I have spent plenty a day on the beach. The experience of being able to walk right out to the beach and back to the comforts of home at a moments whim makes it so much more relaxing and enjoying! My son and daughter-in-law enjoyed the beach house so much they opted to stay-in rather than have a date night after our grandson went to bed. My son commented there was no place they could go that was better! In addition, the house layout is perfect. The bedrooms provide comfortable privacy when needed and the living and family rooms are huge with lots of comfortable seating. The murphy bed in the family room provides a comfortable mattress to sleep, but tucks away easily during the day for even more family room space. We did find that the corner with the murphy bed did get warm once the sun came up, but we had early risers in our group that did not mind it. I can't thank the Willis' enough for letting us use their amazing beach house to make our grandson's first birthday extra special.
We really loved our stay at this home. There were 6 of us--my parents, my husband and I and 2 young kids (4 and 6). I am going to try and comment on things not documented in other reviews. It really is a home away from home. There were all the little amenities--flour sugar oil spices sponges, garbage bags, toilet paper, extra sunscreen and bugspray, toothpaste, etc.--that you would have at a vacation house you owned. Also boogie boards, sand toys, and so forth. There were not any items for babies, though, like Pak n Play or high chair. The house is in a beautiful residential area, quiet, no gas stations, etc. Beautiful wall of sliding glass doors overlooks ocean from eating area so you can always hear/see ocean and your kids while they play on the sand, which is closer than it looks. If you had older kids, you could see them int eh water. I was worried about no outside seating area with no shade, but sitting there with the windows open you could hear the sea loud and clear. We were there 8 days and never went through all of the towels. The master had lots of windows overlooking ocean/beach, as well. The only trick for us was that my parents took the master, so my husband and I slept on the double bed with a curtain around it in the living room, which lacked general privacy. We had to do this because our daughters could not share the twin bed in one room so they shared the queen in the other room. It would be nice if there was a second twin or bunk beds or even a cot to put both kids in the town room room for a 4 adult, 2 young children situation. The ocean was gorgeous, shallow out far so the kids could play and body surf even though they are young (with life jackets, which we brought). The beach is very deep so plenty of room to sit and relax. And it was a short walk--about a half mile-- on the beach to Coconut's, a very fun bar and the Beach Shack, another fun bar. We had a good date night listening to live music at these venues, both with music Thursday thru Saturday nights at least. We also hung out at the Cocoa Beach pier and saw a rocket launch, watched a surf competition, enjoyed the Dinosaur Store, went kayaking with Adventure Kayak, and played put putt and held a baby alligator at Golf and Gator. GREAT time had by all. We saw manatees, awesome birds, dolphins, alligators, and ate some great seafood. Very relaxing, and very fun! There were no big hotels nearby, so we barely saw anyone the whole time unless we walked up to Coconuts where the beach was always packed. What a treat! Also very easy drive to airport/Disney and all Orlando has to offer if you are interested.
The house is right on the beach. We saw dolphins! The neighborhood is listed as the #3 spot in cocoa beach for surf. We boogie boarded for three days. We saw surfers and kite surfers as well. Oh, and there are many towels, which is very generous of the hosts. Willis was helpful and communicative, highly recommended.
I was looking for a long weekend getaway from the icy winter up north, found this and said "that's where I want to be!" One week later we were there, I could not have picked a better place. I was enjoying it so much I did not want to sleep! (time for that when I get home) We watched the sunrise every morning on the beach as we ate breakfast, and walked down the beach to the Tiki bar for diner in the evening.
You will be staying in his home and he lives NICE. You will not regret your choice. We even got to watch a satellite being launched one evening from the frigging backyard beach!
Thank you Willis.
As a semi-retired business owner I have the opportunity to enjoy our family home in Cocoa Beach while balancing time in Winchester, VA with the family and company. Boating, leaisure and entertainment inspire this phase of my life. What brings me the most joy is sharing such experiences with family and old & new friends.
Our home in Cocoa Beach has been in the family for over 50 years. We hope that you can feel the rich history in the house and enjoy creating some of your own.
