Ocean front home ONLY 60 FEET TO BEACH, (any closer you're wet), 15 minutes from Port Canaveral, 5 minutes from Ron Jon's Surf Shop and 45 minutes to the Orlando airport. Once you arrive plan an adventure or don't leave at all. With a master bedroom(king) & bath, 2 guest bedrooms (1 queen, 1 twin) & bath and 1 convertible Murphy bed. There is room for a family or a small group of friends. The kitchen provides plenty of space to prepare delicious meals while interacting with family and the ocean view. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking necessities and stainless steel appliances. For extended stays the washer and dryer will be accessible to our guests.
When you arrive expect a clean and inviting space. We are excited to learn what interests you in the area and provide information or inside scoop possible. We certainly suggest walking north up the beach to Coconut's for some live music and seafood. There are many other quality restaurants in the area depending on your tastes. We are happy to make suggestions.
Our family has owned and vacationed in this home for 60 years and seen 4 generations. The wood paneled walls and ceilings are original from 1949. It is often said in fun, "if these walls could talk, no , really!". We all consider it home away from home and are thrilled to share just that feeling with our guests. Some guests include the very first Astronauts as depicted in the movie "The Right Stuff".
We really loved our stay at this home. There were 6 of us--my parents, my husband and I and 2 young kids (4 and 6). I am going to try and comment on things not documented in other reviews. It really is a home away from home. There were all the little amenities--flour sugar oil spices sponges, garbage bags, toilet paper, extra sunscreen and bugspray, toothpaste, etc.--that you would have at a vacation house you owned. Also boogie boards, sand toys, and so forth. There were not any items for babies, though, like Pak n Play or high chair. The house is in a beautiful residential area, quiet, no gas stations, etc. Beautiful wall of sliding glass doors overlooks ocean from eating area so you can always hear/see ocean and your kids while they play on the sand, which is closer than it looks. If you had older kids, you could see them int eh water. I was worried about no outside seating area with no shade, but sitting there with the windows open you could hear the sea loud and clear. We were there 8 days and never went through all of the towels. The master had lots of windows overlooking ocean/beach, as well. The only trick for us was that my parents took the master, so my husband and I slept on the double bed with a curtain around it in the living room, which lacked general privacy. We had to do this because our daughters could not share the twin bed in one room so they shared the queen in the other room. It would be nice if there was a second twin or bunk beds or even a cot to put both kids in the town room room for a 4 adult, 2 young children situation. The ocean was gorgeous, shallow out far so the kids could play and body surf even though they are young (with life jackets, which we brought). The beach is very deep so plenty of room to sit and relax. And it was a short walk--about a half mile-- on the beach to Coconut's, a very fun bar and the Beach Shack, another fun bar. We had a good date night listening to live music at these venues, both with music Thursday thru Saturday nights at least. We also hung out at the Cocoa Beach pier and saw a rocket launch, watched a surf competition, enjoyed the Dinosaur Store, went kayaking with Adventure Kayak, and played put putt and held a baby alligator at Golf and Gator. GREAT time had by all. We saw manatees, awesome birds, dolphins, alligators, and ate some great seafood. Very relaxing, and very fun! There were no big hotels nearby, so we barely saw anyone the whole time unless we walked up to Coconuts where the beach was always packed. What a treat! Also very easy drive to airport/Disney and all Orlando has to offer if you are interested.
The house is right on the beach. We saw dolphins! The neighborhood is listed as the #3 spot in cocoa beach for surf. We boogie boarded for three days. We saw surfers and kite surfers as well. Oh, and there are many towels, which is very generous of the hosts. Willis was helpful and communicative, highly recommended.
I was looking for a long weekend getaway from the icy winter up north, found this and said "that's where I want to be!" One week later we were there, I could not have picked a better place. I was enjoying it so much I did not want to sleep! (time for that when I get home) We watched the sunrise every morning on the beach as we ate breakfast, and walked down the beach to the Tiki bar for diner in the evening.
You will be staying in his home and he lives NICE. You will not regret your choice. We even got to watch a satellite being launched one evening from the frigging backyard beach!
Thank you Willis.
Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this clean, cozy and comfortable beach house. We loved watching the sun rise over the ocean every morning. Willis was a pleasure to work with. Thank you for a great week!
This is an ideal place. Willis was great about communication and things were easy. The location is prime. The view spectacular (we saw the full moon rise over the Atlantic in magnificent glory. We found the place very comfortable and pleasant. If there was any complaint it was that the lighting is a bit dim. the beds were comfortable, the kitchen easy, and the beach amazing. I am a particular fan of the sun room bed which is both comfortable and has stunning views. Cocoa Beach is a fine tourist town, Kennedy Space Center a treasury, and the funky Exploration Tower at Port Canaveral warrants a trip. Roberto's Cuban restaurant is excellent.
we had a great time in Willis beach house. everything worked well and the location is super- right on the beach! you sleep to the sound of crashing waves. thank you Willis - we definitely come back!!
Fantastic stay! We made last minute arrangements to spend Christmas at this oceanfront home. The kids ran past presents Christmas morning to enjoy the surf. We could not have been more happy or more comfortable. Everything we could possibly want or need was at our fingertips! From Keurig to lawn chairs and scissors to binoculars this home was comfortable and well stocked. It is possible that guests without inquisitive kids may not discover all the storage spots that allow the home to look so clean and yet be so well stocked!
Don't let exterior pictures or description of interior "paneling" put you off. Inside is a modern, fully stocked kitchen behind a warm comfortable sitting / TV area with knotty pine lumber paneling. In front of this is a bright, beach friendly sunroom, sitting and breakfast area. Fully air conditioned and heated, the ceiling fans, reflective blinds and beach breezes should keep this home pleasant at any temperature. The king bedroom is comfortable and the beautifully tiled walk in shower in master bedroom is a luxury!
Allowing my daughter to pick bedrooms first, she quickly took the room with full size bed and ocean view. My son grumpily threw his things into the back bedroom until he discovered the full size murphy bed in nook at far end of the sunroom with full wrap-around heavy duty curtain/walls. What a great transitional space! Sunny sitting area or great bedroom with a view and total privacy! The greatest thing about the murphy bed is that, hidden in a nook, its use does not hinder use of the rest of the house in any way.
This home is close enough to the south of Cocoa to be extremely convenient, even within walking distance by beach or road for ambitious guests. Despite public beach access points at the end of each block, the area in front of the house is practically private with occasional passers by and, in December, only a few others enjoying a seat in the sand. Despite houses on both sides, the layout gives the yard and home a feeling of privacy and comfort. Nestled between the sand dunes on the beach we experienced ultimate relaxation.
We had no problem making surfing lessons just a few miles away in Cocoa. We tore ourselves away from the beach to visit the Kennedy Space Center and enjoyed a great seafood meal on our way out of town. Our only regret was not making this leg of our trip longer!
Willis was great to work with, responding quickly to all our questions and working with us in spite of some confusion regarding reservation. We have been spreading the word to friends around the country that this home is a great, relaxing destination and could certainly see ourselves visiting again!
Thanks very much Willis!! Best wishes!
This cottage is beautifully situated on Cocoa Beach...not a block from the beach, not over the road, not down the street...it's ON Cocoa Beach.
The views are amazing from the glass sliding doors that are lined up facing the ocean. It is a spacious beach cottage with ample sleeping. There are beach chairs and towels. The kitchen is fully equipped and cook friendly with real pots and pans and dinnerware and a great oven and stove top.
Tips: Read the manual before arriving and leaving
Wear shoes during the summer walking down to the water over the sand. We didn't and got some nasty blisters on our feet!
If you're going for surfing lessons book those at the beginning of your holiday so you can practice. (We went with a school next door to Ron Jon Surf Shop.)
Willis' house is a great place for a family vacation. It really couldn't be closer to the beach -- just step out the sliding doors, wind through some low dunes and you're there! It's almost like having a private beach, it's so uncrowded. We saw nice birds during the day, dolphins at dusk and a sea turtle hauling out late at night. As for the house, if you're looking for a cookie cutter condo, this isn't it! This is a vintage Florida beach house. There's a large, open kitchen/living dining room with a big master bedroom and bath to one side and two bedrooms to the other. We didn't use it, but there's a murphy bed with a curtain that encricles it to make another "bedroom." I'm not usually a fan of paneling but the pine paneling on the walls and the exposed beams and ceiling add to the charm. So does some classic mid-century furniture. The AC works well and the kitchen is good for making family meals. We were only there for a few days but felt right at home. Willis was very available to answer any questions and everything went completely smoothly.
This little gem of a house right on the ocean will forever hold a special place in my heart. It is truly a magical space and I cherish the memories I made here with my family.
Willis was great......even let us stay an extra day when none of us could bear leaving!
The comfortable beds, the convection oven ( I'm a chef and was ecstatic to have it!), the amazing shower, THE VIEW, the location....every little detail of this place is set up to make your beach vacation special.
You will not be disappointed.....and I will definitely be back!
