Our "treehouse" is an immaculate 600 sq. foot apartment sitting high amongst a grove of trees with a full, well appointed kitchen, private bedroom, and washer/dryer. It is ideal for the short or longer term traveler seeking a quiet refuge.
Our "treehouse" apartment sits amongst a beautiful grove of trees offering inviting privacy and shade. It is a separate structure from the main house on a half acre wooded lot in central/NW Austin in the Highland Park West neighborhood. There is a private entrance and driveway with off street parking. The apartment is located above a garage structure built in 2007 offering the quality of new construction with vintage charm.
The Highland Park West neighborhood is north of central downtown about 5 miles or only about 10 minutes due to very easy access to Mopac at the 45th St entrance a 1/4 mile away. Our property is adjacent to the Camp Mabry facility on the north side.
Our area features beautiful tree lined streets, well kept yards, and a very friendly vibe. Russell's bakery and coffee shop are within short walking distance along with Perry Park which has great walking trails and tennis courts.
The apartment is a fully functioning residential living space, making it absolutely ideal for both short term or longer term stays of a week or more. There are three rooms: A main room with a modern kitchen, a 2 person dining table, 2 bar stools and a generous living area with a long couch. There is a completely separate bedroom with drawer space and a queen size bed with an organic mattress. The bathroom has a standard size tub/shower, a stackable washer/dryer and a closet. Linens and towels are provided.
The kitchen has a full size electric stove and cooktop, a full size refrigerator, microwave, a Keurig coffee maker with coffee provided, toaster, and basic cooking/serving items including flatware, cups, plates, pots and pans.
The shower is supplied with shampoo, conditioner, and liquid body soap.
The apartment has a television with a built in DVD player, but no cable. Wireless internet is provided.
We do have a 2 night minimum stay. Friday and Saturday night rates are slightly higher.

Interaction with guests
If I am able, I generally give the guests a short overview of the property and offer any advice. Otherwise, I am freely available by phone or text for any needs.
This is a quiet residential neighborhood suitable for walking. Russell's coffee shop and a smaller shopping center with a grocery store and Starbuck's are within a half a mile.

Please no smoking in the apartment or on the premises. No loud partying as this is a quiet neighborhood. No pets please.
I'm a school teacher and my wife is an interior designer. We have lived in Austin since 1997 and still find it to be a very alive and fun town.
