A house with good standard in the countryside. It easily fits ten and have a nice outdoor kitchen/dining space. Indoor you can relax in the sauna. You will have acres around the house for yourself. There is a little stream with trouts. Catch em?
4 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, living room and a sauna. In addition we have a outdoor kitchen with gas and wood fired pizza oven and a sitting place with a big table. Any type of heating is included in the rent. Inside there is a wood fire stove. In the sauna there is a wood fired stove.
This is a house where you do what you like your self. You make your own food and even can catch it if you're lucky.
This is a place to relax and be in the nature. Perfect to just sit outside watching the Northern lights fly over the sky.
The house do have a boat that is available for those who rent the house. This is a 12' boat perfect for fishing and includes the fishing equipment (just for the summer time).
Some of my guests also have reminded me that this is a perfect area for those interested in photo.
The complete house is for the guests disposition, except for the storage room in the basement.
Interaction with Guests
I will normally not be at the site when guests arrive so direct communication is done by my local host. All guests will be meet by the local host. I'm normally online any time, except for the night, so I try to answer any question immediately.
The area under 'The Lyngen Alps' (Lyngsalpene) are popular both for winter and summer vacations. In the darker months in mid winter you can view the 'Northern Lights' (Aurora Borealis). When the dark wither is turning more over to longer days the skiers appears in the spectacular mountains surrounding the house.
There is a restaurant/bar that have a seasonal opening hours. There is a local grocery store in 10min away.
In winter the local Husky Farm can give you a ride into the mountains behind a sled or you can go horseback riding.
'Northern Light Dog Adventure' is my neighbour where you can book you dogsled tour with Thomas.
In the summer you need to try the good fishing opportunities in the area. Fishing in lakes, rivers, creeks and the fjord is very popular. Go pick your own mussels on low tide.
There is an ancient "Sami Church" that is situated under a big rock formed as a church.
Between the house and the city center there are 3 bus connections per day.
The local host will help to bring you to the grocery store for little fee.
The international airport in Tromsø is just 73 km away. The train station in Narvik is just above 2 hours drive away.
Other Things to Note
If you stay in a summer weekend you may rent a larger boat with skipper for taking the bigger fish in the fjord. The last few years have the number of halibut increased greatly. So watch out for halibut of 100 kg and above.
You will be meet by a local host that will show you around. There is a electronic lock so you will need a entrance code to enter the building. There is free wood for the sauna, pizza own and the inside fireplace. The power and hot water are free and you hire bed linen (80NOK/each).
The house was nice and warm when we arrived. The candles outside in the snow made a very nice welcome in the dark. Catherine and her son came round to show us around and told us to make ourselves at home.
Geweldige tijd gehad! Aanrader!
The house and location are great. We saw northern lights out the living room windows 5 out of 10 nights, including 2 nights that were just outstanding. Our parents really appreciated the flexibility of watching the lights from the living room windows or stepping outside to fully appreciate the splendor. We even went sledding under the northern lights with the provided sleds on the hill across the street. The local host was very helpful and friendly. Coming from Florida we really appreciated the amenities like wool socks and snow suits. Just to help in planning purposes, there isn't a microwave and there is not a bathroom on the floor with the bedrooms, but there is everything else you need. The scene
Our stay in Oystein house was amazing! Communication with him was perfect, all instructions were clear so it wasn't a problem that a house isn't in the city, well it was a huge advantage! After a simple but at the same time impressive journey with buses we stopped in the middle of nowhere in front of single house. The impression was really strong especially if you live in a big city. Surrounding is really impressive, with a picturesque mountains around, loads of snow and complete silence.
House have everything you need, and more - sauna and fireplace - which gave us additional fun factor :)
We spend amazing and relaxing time, met great people and have fun ride on dog sled and what's the most important we saw northern lights 3 night in the row just in front of the house!
Loved the house! It was perfect for viewing the northern lights and very cozy.
Everything was fantastic, the house has all you would need and is in a stunning location. Effective heating and the sauna was a luxury to have every evening. We hope to come back during the summer months as well.
What a wonderful weekend away in the middle of no where! It is the perfect location to chase the northern lights. The house has everything you would need for a weekend away and the northern lights can be seen from the front yard; we saw them twice out of the three nights we were there. The pizza oven and sauna make it even better than anticipated. Would definitely recommend this house. Although we never met Oystein, he was very prompt with all communication and his neighbor Thomas, who is the local host, was also fantastic to deal with. Thanks again for a great stay!

I'm from Norway, work for an US company in Norway. Enjoy playing golf all over the world. And, off cause I like Italian wine (Barolo is the favorite) and the Italian food. I do ride my bike in the woods around Trondheim.
In winter time I like skiing both cross country and backcountry.
