Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This is the downstairs of a duplex house. The Airbnb description gives the idea it is the whole house but it is only the complete downstairs. A terrific place to stay. There are a highway outside the Cabin and roads can be noisy but only one complaint in many reviews. Also, there isn’t a TV in the living room but there is a TV in each of 3 bedroom. I think living rooms are for board games, and the fireplace and time with family and friends.

The space
Total of 3-bedrooms. There are Two Cozy bedrooms with closets and full sized beds, another room with places to hang clothes on nobs and an antique twin bed frame. All new bedding and mattresses in and on all beds. New Air conditioning in the twin bed room. We call this room the Sun Room.

Guest access
Total access to the first floor of Rosa’s Cabin. Including the wrap-around front porch. There are no stairs on the inside of building so you have total privacy. The owner resides on the second floor.

Other things to note
If you like to cook this is a great place for you! We have (all new) dishwasher, two sinks, two-disposals, a GE range featuring. convection & two gas ovens, a side by side fridge, new pots and pans. Lots of imagination went into this galley kitchen complete with a porthole which every galley kitchen must have.

For many years the downstairs was a gift&antique store, and now it’s guest lodging with many gifts on the walls, on shelves, in display cases and it’s coordinated well within the 1850 log cabin and the home as well.

Yes! It is truly an ancient log cabin made of huge cedar logs that were hand hewn by craftsmen around 1850. I am so happy to share the downstairs of my marvelous log house with the big wrap-around porch in the middle of a beautiful country Alabama town, named Rosa. I am disabled with sciatica and arthritis and I live upstairs. My friends wants me to move into the AIRBNB GUEST LODGING downstairs but I like living upstairs even though the 18-steps up to my home are good for me. It’s ok, my guests use the downstairs for easy access and besides, I designed the downstairs specifically for y’all.

The next door neighbors of Rosa’s Cabin are a lovely Methodist Church and a 150 year old cemetery where many of my close family rest as well as members of the local community finish their Earthly existence in that cemetery. There are also fields and pastures and cows and horses all around. Livestock and critters make good neighbors. Come visit and stay a while, we’ve got a place for you!

Neighborhood highlights

Rural neighborhood. We are located less than a block away from a Methodist Church and a large Community Cemetery which is where some of my family reside. Many of the graves are over 100 years old and the cemetery is on the register of Historic Cemeteries of the State of Alabama.

Where I went to school: Birmingham-Southern College closed 2024
My work: Retired-disabled
I lived in Los Angeles for 12 years working & attending school. Worked in entertainment, went 2 Emmys before their wokeness. My sweet mom had an accident in Alabama and I came home to help her recover. I bought Rosa’s Cabin (ca. 1850) and turned it into my home/business. Mom and I first turned it into a gift/Antique/Computer store. Success! Then arthritis hit me. I changed store into a BNB. Mom would have been proud of beautiful Rosa’s Cabin.
