The Room: This is my personal bedroom that I occasionally rent out when I am out of town. It's the master bedroom and has a organic wool queen sized futon mattress. The room is very large and has a private bathroom with shower, Jacuzzi tub, separate room for the toilet, and Jack and Jill sinks. The room also has direct access to a huge private patio with an awesome view of Golden Gate Heights. Walk in closet as well.
The house: The house is only 5 years old and very large (especially for SF), 2 stories with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, large kitchen, living room, and dining room. You are welcome to use the kitchen, just clean up after yourself! There is also a fire pit in the backyard and 4 different decks throughout the house for getting some rays or taking in great views of the park and the bay. There is a washer and dryer in the unit which you are also welcome to use.
The neighborhood: The neighborhood is very active with tons of (mostly asian) restaurants within walking distance. It's also very quit at night and safe; one block away from Golden Gate park.
Parking and Transportation
You definitely don't need a car to get around the city but in case you have one street parking is free and relatively easy to find, I can usually find a spot within 1 block. We're near tons of public transportation and it's super easy to get around. 1/2 block from N train for downtown/beach and the 28 going North and South. Also easy access to 71, 16, and 29. From the airport it takes about 70 minutes via train ($10) and 25 minutes via taxi ($40). If you book a taxi with Wingz it only cost $35.
There are three roommates, all in our mid twenties and we're super friendly. We all met in Japan (two of us were living there and 1 is from there) and enjoy surfing and hiking on the weekends but keep it pretty mellow during the week.
Kitchen, living room, balcony.
Interaction with Guests
There is one other room in the house that we have on Airbnb so you will likely meet other guests as well as myself and my two roommates.
My roommates and I all work a lot and are generally pretty busy so we might not be around too much.
Vibrant Chinatown neighborhood (1 of 3 in SF) with lots of grocery and dining options.
Tons of public transportation options for getting around the city (N line goes directly downtown). Also lots of dining options within walking distance,.
No smoking, no pets, no guests that aren't on the reservation, no shoes (there is a shoe rack at the front door). Please be quiet and respectful of the neighbors when entering the house. Feel free to use the kitchen, just please clean up after yourself and no food in the room (it attracts bugs)! We keep a pretty laid back and quiet house during the week but will occasionally have some friends over for beer and bbq on the weekend, feel free to join us!
Nick's apartment was very nice! The bedroom suite was great, with its own huge bathroom and balcony. Trevor and I really enjoyed our stay there. The deck was very nice - unfortunately the hot tub wasn't available for use, though. Instructions on how to use everything were very clear. Parking was slightly difficult since the street was fairly busy on the weekend, but that's to be expected in a big city like San Francisco.
This was my first experience using airbnb and it was great, exactly what my husband and I needed for our stay. The location was good, close to Golden Gate Park with some fun shops and restaurants nearby. The house was really nice and I loved that the bedroom, bathroom, and even the wonderful deck off of Nick's room were all private. I had some minor confusion regarding the address as we got into SF (my fault for not clarifying beforehand), so I called Nick's roommate Ben who was super nice and able to clarify the address for me right away and it was easy to find. Parking in the area is challenging but not impossible, and it's free on the street so I can't complain. We didn't run into anyone much because we were out and about most of our stay, but the other airbnb guest and Nick's other roommate who we talked to seemed very friendly and nice. Overall we had an excellent experience and would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much!
We couldn't have asked for a better host! Nick and his housemates accommodated us very warmly and made everything so easy.
GREAT location. Very close to restaurants, transportation and shops. I hope we'll get a chance to stay at Nick's again!
Nick's room was very nice and the bed was especially comfortable. I liked the private bathroom. Nick's roommates were very kind and helpful. Thank you so much for a pleasant stay!
Nick and his room mates were very polite, kind, and welcoming hosts. The room was very nice as well, enjoyed stepping out onto the porch to check or the view! There were a few other guests staying in the other rooms and all seemed very pleasant. We would consider staying here a second time if we find ourselves in the area!
Nick answered very quick on my request. And I was hosted by his roommate Ben already in couple hours.
The location and the building itself is very good. Walking distance to Golden Gate park. The house is new; the room is clean and big enough with a private bathroom and patio. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in SF!
Excellent room and beautiful apartment. Having a private bathroom was an amazing luxury! Ben (Nick's roommate) was a great host and gave me some tips about the area. Would definitely stay again!
