The cabin was easy to find and in the most beautiful location. The views from the deck were just lovely. There was more than enough room for all of us to be comfortable (4 adults and 1 toddler). We were in Bethel for a wedding, but wish we were there longer so we could've spent more time at the house. I could imagine a really nice evening grilling on the porch and then sitting by the firepit.
The beds were all very comfortable and the cabin couldn't have been cleaner. We really appreciated the motion lights when we came home late, in the darkness, from the wedding.
There is a lot to do in Bethel and the surrounding area --you'll find lots of printed info in the house, including maps. We were a short drive into town and a grocery store, which was nice.
We're already trying to find a time to get back to this part of Maine and the cabin and we only got back yesterday!
Thank you Jen...it's a very peaceful and beautiful environment at the cabin and the surrounding area. The river is right down Flat road and Outdoor Adventure has a lot of information regarding access and water fun. Hiking around the White Mountain National Forrest entrance at the far end of Flat road is only a 3 mile drive. Much to do, Yes! Come back any time!
This cabin was the perfect location for our weekend in the white mountains. We enjoyed going into the town which was a quick drive away from the house. We would have loved to stay here in he winter as the cabin is perfectly set up for that with the wood stove. During the day it was very hot in the cabin as there was no A/C. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!
Thank you for the nice review. The afternoon beautiful sunshine makes the cabin a lovely place on the mountainside, it faces west. We have many fans to place where anyone would like and window fans and ceiling fans, the lower level is extremely cool during a sunny day as well. The porch is also shaded with open screen windows. There are 2 umbrellas for the deck. The window rolling shades can be lowered to block sun, if wanted.
We absolutely loved our stay at Pam's beautiful cabin in Bethel. Everything was just as described, and truly stunning. The property was beautiful and immaculately clean. The cabin served as the perfect place to stay for our weekend in the White Mountains.
Pam and Mike's cabin is a wonderful place to stay! It's well stocked and well organized. Pam is quick to respond to any questions or concerns. There is plenty of space to sleep 6 and the fence in the back is perfect for a dog. Plan ahead to take your trash out. The transfer station is a convenient spot to drop trash if you go to the Step Falls, but a bit out of the way otherwise (transfer station open Sat, Sun, Wed). The drive up to the cabin gives you the feeling of being secluded, but don't follow the GPS to the end of the road. We would love to visit again!
Pamela's secluded cabin was exactly what we wanted from our trip! It was quite, scenic and totally charming. Pam was very accommodating and the cabin had everything we needed.
We had a little trouble with the water pressure on the second day but it was easily rectified by turning off and on the valve in the basement.
Thanks Pam! :)
Wonderful getaway, and very cozy atmosphere. The cabin gazes upon a mountain scene. Birds twee all day long, the area is a birding paradise. Owls delighted us at night time too. Close too Bethel, and Sunday River. Lots of space to feel at home.
We had a FANTASTIC time up here at Sparrow Hawk! The views of the mountains are great, the common room perfect for our group (of five), and the location by he White Mountains cannot be beat. We highly recommend this property to other AirBNB folks - what a great spring getaway.
