  • Pam is extremely responsive and helpful. The cabin is beautiful and just like the pictures. Seven of us stayed very comfortably in the three bedrooms. Without Wifi and close to Sunday River and Bethel, it was a great place for a quiet and relaxing getaway!

re: previous reviews - there were a few mosquitos but we didn't see wasps. We brought bug spray (after all, the house is in the woods) and that did the trick.

  • Loved this house! We decided to vacation in the White Mountains this year and take the dog. We love to hike and wanted a place close to NF but not in town or near a crowded campground. We found it here.

Pam's cabin is on the west side of the NF. The quiet side! It was a great location on a private road. Neighbors, what neighbors? Completely secluded and lovely. Think of it as visiting a family members' cabin in the woods. Comfortable and liven in.

Dog friendly yard and deck - although mine preferred to be with us soaking up the view on the deck, the fenced yard is AWESOME. Large, secure, a doggy paradise.

The house itself is large. The pictures show the layout well. We only used the main level but the lower level is complete with TV, full bath, and beds. The loft is great and has the MOST COMFORTABLE BED I have ever slept in while traveling. I must find out what kind it is. Screened in porch with table which we used every morning for coffee and evening for dinner.

Kitchen is fully stocked with all that is needed. I located the wine opener without issue. There is a gas grill which I used every night. Plenty of towels and a washer and dryer if needed. There is a nice (large) library of books and DVDs as well. Basically, everything you have at home is here. Our week was delightful and wasn't missing a thing (even if we forgot to bring it from home!)

  • Wasps! Let me say this first, before I tell you what a beautiful, otherwise four-star cabin this is.
On our first night, we killed three of these in the bedroom, right before bedtime. Then the next morning, three more, after my wife was attacked by one in the kitchen. Pam's response: Kill them. We spent $20 on bug spray and killed about 20 wasps and took down four nests that were hanging from the doors to the deck. I can understand one or two wasps bugging you in the yard, but 20 wasps inside the house and on the deck I would consider a problem.
Other than the wasps, the cabin is great. Modern, clean, fully equipped kitchen, has washer and dryer, and two tv-sets with DVD player and satellite TV (in addition to a huge DVD collection). The deck is gorgeous with a gate so the dogs can't run away.
The area has great hikes for the dogs at the end of Flat Rd and on Route 113. There are also some other activities north of Bethel. Make sure you pick up a Recycling sticker for $2 in the town office in Bethel so you can leave your trash at the recycling facility (wed, sat, and sun 9-4). The Staff at the Bethel Chamber of Commerce is great and they treat you really well.
We had a really great time and the dogs did, too.

    Response from Pamela:

Wow. Let me first say...So sorry you publicly post your over exaggerated wasp issue. We do spray for the wasps, we always spray and you just happened to come in after a long rainy spell. You contacted me about the few that were in the cabin and I said kill them, make sure the screen doors are pulled shut among other immediate remedies . You rented a remote cabin in the woods on a mountain. Cabins sometimes have insects and we take every precaution to stay ahead of pests. There are cans of insect spray always on hand in the
laundry room. Glad you can say after all you had a good time.

  • Pam our host was warm and welcoming in her e-mails, answering any questions I had. My husband and I felt at home from the moment we arrived. The home is lovely, and very well built, (coming from a husband and builder), and the views from the deck beautiful! The privacy and quiet was just what we needed. Pam welcomes dogs, something difficult to find. Early morning walks were the highlight for them. We stayed for two days, not long enough. We left making plans for a second trip. We loved it! A true blessing from God.

  • Pam was very easy to work with and made my first Airbnb experience a smooth one. She was timely and responsive.
The cabin provided the perfect peaceful, relaxing getaway. We loved the cozy wood stove and the expansive deck with a view. The location is convenient to exploring the White Mountain National Forest. We look forward to a return visit.

  • Pamela was a real joy to rent from. She is very responsive. What you are going to love most about renting from Pam is the easiness of the process. She is very thorough and informative. Upon arriving at the cabin is when you will be able to see Pam's amazing character traits. The warmth and welcoming energy the cabin has to offer provides immediate relaxation if R&R is what you're looking for. If you have dogs, then look no further, you will want to rent from Pam as she has made the cabin doggy friendly. We can't wait to go back! - oh, and you'll love the people from Bethel! Just good genuine people!

  • My husband, daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at Sparrow Hawk. The cabin is lovely and cosy and the setting very peaceful. Our 2 year old particularly liked the 'horsey swing'! We enjoyed exploring the area and hope one day to return :)

  • My wife and I stayed here for our 1st anniversary and it was lovely! We couldn't have asked for a better place. The cabin is very cozy with spectacular views...and it's just a short drive from town. And Pam and Mike were nice enough to share their bottle of champagne with us! Overall, this was a great stay with very considerate owners. I would recommend the cabin to anyone interested in staying in that area.

    Thanks Pam and Mike!
