About This Listing
Welcome to our house on the sunny hills of Magagnosc !
We have a house just outside Grasse where we can offer accommodation in three self contained apartments. Two one bedroom apartments and one two bedroom apartment.
This one is named the Citronnier (lemon tree)
The apartment is 40m2, has a large bedroom with double bed, bathroom , kitchen, and living with a convertible sofa bed for 2 people.
They all have private balconies with a wonderful view down to the sea (Cannes/Mandelieu/Theoule), the Esterel mountains and the Tanneron forest, the latter well known for its Mimosa.
As for the apartments, they have their private entry, fully furnished and equipped, free wifi, television, washing machines. I provide sheets and towels, so you can just drop your suitcase and start the holidays immediately upon arrival.
Magagnosc is a small hamlet, or rather several small hamlets plus a very large residential area. 4 km to Grasse, 35 km to Nice and 20 km to Cannes. Closest skiing resort is Gréolieres, around 45 minutes drive. Lots of typical Provencal villages aswell : Biot, Valbonne, Mougins, Gourdon, Saint Paul de Vence to name a few.
As we are so close to everything it is just a question of time what you will be able to do.
Golfing, hiking, biking, beach, shopping…………….
You will find maps, guides and information in your apartment and the tourist office of Grasse also have a very complete website. And we’ve lived here for 16 years and are more than happy to give you some ideas of what to do.
A MUST while in Grasse is of course the Perfume museums, my favourites are the International Perfume Museum which was recently renovated, then the Fragonard museum which offers free guided tours, both of these are situated in the Centre of Grasse. Less known by visitors is the beautiful Cathedral of Grasse, worth a visit, and if you come in July and August you can enjoy a perfumed siesta in the centre of town. Also the little streets with lots of nice shops and restaurants is worth a visit, will give you the names of our favorites once you get here.
If travelling with children, I would also recommend going to Monaco and visit the Oceanographic Museum, Antibes with its well known Marineland, or why not go to the lake of Saint Cassien and rent a pedalboat or canoe.
Oh and latest news (Dec.2012) there is now free wifi in Grasse Centre:
News in Grasse!
Free Wi-Fi in Grasse Centre: Covered Zones: Place du Cours Honore Cresp, Jardin des Plantes, Square du Clavecin, Boulevard Jeu du Ballon (lower part), Place aux Aires, Rue des Fabreries and Rue des Quatre Coins
You can also find free wifi in most fast food restaurants in France.
New Tourist Office (from April 2013): the previous three small offices will be gathered in one space at the old bus station in Grasse (Place de la Buandérie), it will be possible to park in front the time to get the information you need.
New bus station! The bus station has been moved down to the train station, there are shuttles up to centre of town, you can park for free at train station the time to take a day excursion by train.
See you soon!
First of all, feel at home, as we have three apartments and everyone should be able to enjoy their stay, just a few rules so that everything is clear:
Pls do not make a lot of noise, we live in a residential area with people working, so pls respect especially late at night. Noise meaning loud music, screaming, not normal talking.
Do not park anywhere else than on our parking, you can load and unload outside apartments
Do not hang clothing and towels on balcony rack, there is a rack for this purpose on the inside of balcony, also if you have to shake off sand, do that on the entrance side of the apartment, not out from balcony, it may end up in our supper.
Garbage is to be kept inside apartment until you throw it in the bins situated on your left hand walking out from our house, do not leave outside door as cats and dogs can come and tear them open.
Smoking is permitted outside, on balcony, for everyones comfort we kindly ask you not to smoke inside apartment, if not disturbing anyone it is also permitted by pool.
Pool: open for our guests from 9am to 6pm from Monday to Friday, we reserve the right to deny access if we have to treat the water to ensure its quality. Children must be accompanied by an adult who can swim. Do not “reserve” sun chairs by laying towels on them if not by the pool.
Tove was great! she welcomed us and was waiting to let us get in the apartment.
We had all we need in the apartment, thanks
Tove was very kind and thoughtful and we were very grateful indeed that she came to pick us up at the station on a Sunday. Her flat is really clean and comfortable and in a fabulous location near to Grasse. It's a beautiful spot with gorgeous views and we had a lovely time in the pool and enjoyed the sun. We made great use of the reliable local buses and visited far flung villages, the Florian confectioners in Pont du Loup, the Galinard perfumer studio just outside the centre ville as well as a very easy journey back to Nice airport on the fabulously useful 500 service. We have no hesitation in recommending Tove's flat to you all.
This apartment is wonderful as is the host. The best part is the balcony with the amazing view. Perfect for having a glass of wine and watching the sun set. 40 min drive to the beach, and easy to walk to a yummy restaurant. Close to the town of Gourdon which Tove suggested we check out and it was such a stunning mountain village with an incredible view. Tove was able to provide a baby bed too which was wonderful. I would highly suggest this spot.
