Bed and Balcony - Le Citronnier

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Chemin du Camp de la Besse, Grasse, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 06520, France

The Space

Welcome to our house on the sunny hills of Magagnosc !
We have a house just outside Grasse where we can offer accommodation in three self contained apartments. Two one bedroom apartments and one two bedroom apartment.

This one is named the Citronnier (lemon tree)
The apartment is 40m2, has a large bedroom with double bed, bathroom , kitchen, and living with a convertible sofa bed for 2 people.

They all have private balconies with a wonderful view down to the sea (Cannes/Mandelieu/Theoule), the Esterel mountains and the Tanneron forest, the latter well known for its Mimosa.
As for the apartments, they have their private entry, fully furnished and equipped, free wifi, television, washing machines. I provide sheets and towels, so you can just drop your suitcase and start the holidays immediately upon arrival.

Magagnosc is a small hamlet, or rather several small hamlets plus a very large residential area. 4 km to Grasse, 35 km to Nice and 20 km to Cannes. Closest skiing resort is Gréolieres, around 45 minutes drive. Lots of typical Provencal villages aswell : Biot, Valbonne, Mougins, Gourdon, Saint Paul de Vence to name a few.
As we are so close to everything it is just a question of time what you will be able to do.
Golfing, hiking, biking, beach, shopping…………….
You will find maps, guides and information in your apartment and the tourist office of Grasse also have a very complete website. And we’ve lived here for 16 years and are more than happy to give you some ideas of what to do.
A MUST while in Grasse is of course the Perfume museums, my favourites are the International Perfume Museum which was recently renovated, then the Fragonard museum which offers free guided tours, both of these are situated in the Centre of Grasse. Less known by visitors is the beautiful Cathedral of Grasse, worth a visit, and if you come in July and August you can enjoy a perfumed siesta in the centre of town. Also the little streets with lots of nice shops and restaurants is worth a visit, will give you the names of our favorites once you get here.
If travelling with children, I would also recommend going to Monaco and visit the Oceanographic Museum, Antibes with its well known Marineland, or why not go to the lake of Saint Cassien and rent a pedalboat or canoe.
Oh and latest news (Dec.2012) there is now free wifi in Grasse Centre:
News in Grasse!
Free Wi-Fi in Grasse Centre: Covered Zones: Place du Cours Honore Cresp, Jardin des Plantes, Square du Clavecin, Boulevard Jeu du Ballon (lower part), Place aux Aires, Rue des Fabreries and Rue des Quatre Coins

You can also find free wifi in most fast food restaurants in France.
New Tourist Office (from April 2013): the previous three small offices will be gathered in one space at the old bus station in Grasse (Place de la Buandérie), it will be possible to park in front the time to get the information you need.
New bus station! The bus station has been moved down to the train station, there are shuttles up to centre of town, you can park for free at train station the time to take a day excursion by train.

See you soon!

We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to visit again.

  • Tove is an EXCELLENT host! She really goes out of her way and it is her personal mission to ensure you have everything you need to have a great stay. We had a small problem with water supply due to a truck damaging the main water pipe and Tove went out of her way to bring bottled water and extra buckets which was not needed as the water was back on in no time. She also brought us basket of fruit from the garden and drove us to the supermarket to get shopping which so helpful.
This accomodation is PERFECT with excellent views, an amazing pool to relax by and a short walk into Grasse.
We will certainly be back if we are in the area again.
    Thanks Tove :) x

  • Tove was a great host from the start. We had trouble with travelling and were consequently late. She stayed up until midnight to wait for us - which few people would do. We had coffee with her the next day and she was very friendly and gave us recommendations.
Beds were good and view was great. It was also a blessing for us after travelling around so much to have a small kitchen and washing machine.

  • Un grand merci à Tove pour son accueil, sa discrétion. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans un gite très calme et très confortable. Quelle jolie vue du balcon sur Grasse et son environnement!

  • A nice apartment in a quiet location with a great view from the balcony! Moreover I can only agree with the other reviewers: Tove is a great host who was always helpful, cheerful and interested in our activities. She gave us a lot of advices regarding trips, restaurants and other places of interest.

We really enjoyed our vacation and the relaxed atmosphere and would come back anytime!

  • Tove is such a friendly host. She invited me to a coffee and jiuce to her place downstairs and we had a nice chat. I recommend her place already to all online and offline friends and will not stop until everyone knows about this lovely place and host. I will definitely be back again.
