The Neighborhood

We simply love our neighborhood and our borough! Located in the heart of charming Cobble Hill, our apartment is the quintessential Brooklyn experience. We are on Court Street/Baltic Street above all of our great local businesses, restaurants, cafes, and bars (and a block away from Smith Street, home to many great Brooklyn restaurants). Brooklyn is the best part of NYC, and our neighborhood and surrounding have the best places. :)

Getting around

Our guests enjoy the short proximity to Manhattan and the ease of getting to other neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Located one block away from the Bergen Street F/G (less than ten minutes into downtown Manhattan) and 10 minutes walking distance to Borough Hall trains (2/3/4/5/N/R). The whole neighborhood is filled with bike lanes (right around the corner is a bike rental shop). Within easy walking/biking/quick subway or bus ride distance to all of Brooklyn's wonderful neighborhoods and of course all that Manhattan has to offer.

  • Great stay visiting our daughter in the same area. Neighborhood has so many great restaurants, bakeries, etc. and the house was very clean and the room just as advertised. We would stay here again.

  • Our time staying with Amanda on two different occasions (with a week in between), went very well. It was in such a vibrant location and one night we did just pop in to one of the restaurants below. Another time we had brunch with our daughter, husband and our new grandchild at the restaurant on the other side of our front entrance. We did not get in each others way as we spent all day with our daughter.

  • Alex and Amanda are really nice hosts. We enjoyed staying with them in their appartment, which itself is perfect located in Brooklyn.

During our stay Alex and Amanda made us feel welcome and comfortable since it was our first time using airbnb. Their tips and warnings about Brooklyn and New York was perfect to avoid Bering scammed.

We will definitely be using airbnb again thanks to our hosts.

  • Where to start? My partner and I spent two weeks in this apartment. We can certify it is is perfectly located (transportation, restaurants, etc.), very clean and... charming, as advertised :-) This would have been enough to make this apartment a 5-star but for us, the big deal is definitely Amanda and Alex. They truly are the perfect hosts, with a great personality and many things to talk about.

We HIGHLY recommend you to book here!

  • Had a great stay at Amanda and Alex's place in Brooklyn for 6 days over the new year / holidays. GREAT neighbourhood - we enjoyed the 5 block radius around their apartment more than any other area we went to in all of Brooklyn or Manhattan. Awesome restaurants, neighbourhood pubs and cocktail bars, and surprisingly quiet streets. The apartment was always very clean, warm, and easily accessible.

Alex and Amanda were very helpful when we had questions and had great suggestions for all activities and ideas - super easy-going couple and not imposing or difficult in any way :)

    Thanks for an amazing trip!

(TIPS: go with a big appetite to Bare Burger - bets burger i've ever eaten. Cafe Cubana also does great cheap cocktails and food.)

  • Amanda and her partner were great hosts and friends throughout my stay. They were hospitable, welcoming and friendly, and had great tips about local restaurants, bars, and markets and bookstores/ shops in the area. They were very knowledgable about New York and US history and cultures. Also - another secret- they can make great cocktails!
