Two comfortable rooms in a beautiful house, located in a safe area, very central and close to everything.
Away from the traffic noise and near the parks and the soccer stadium. Besides, you'll have an amazing view of the city and the surroundings
You will be staying with a Bolivian family and will have the option to take qualified Spanish lessons with the family host (a professional language teacher) in our house near Mirafliores. We're very centrally located, 10 minutes walk from and to the centre, near the parks and the soccer stadium Hernando Siles in Miraflores.
The house is on Avenida Simon Bolivar, which connects Avenida Camacho that is parallel to Avenida 16 de Julio (Main avenue).
Miraflores is a safe area, close to banks, ATMs, markets, shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. It is also near the hospitals and the Medicine Faculty of Universidad Mayor de San Andres.
We'll provide you with breakfast and the following amenities: kitchen use, washing machine, cable tv, dvd player and Wi-Fi internet. Lunch or dinner, including vegetarian meals, would be provided on request (35 bs).
We're always willing to provide you with any information, tips or useful hints about the city and to tell you about different cultural aspects.
If you are to come with your partner, you can request the double room upstairs with a Queen size bed and cable tv.
The Spanish lessons are available anytime during your stay, 1-4 hrs/day. (60 Bs/hr)
Lessons can range from beginners, learning essential grammar, to intermediate and advanced levels. Lessons will be certainly customized for your language needs.
A guided walking tour around the city (3-5 hrs) is also available for you to get to know every corner of the city, including view points, tourist attractions, market area, old part of the city and museums, as well as less explored areas. (60 Bs/hr)
We are a very friendly family, consisting of a husband, wife and two children (4,11). It is our hope that you feel at home during your stay, that you are able to get to know the city and improve your Spanish all at the same time.
!!!Eres muy bienvenido a nuestra casa!!!
Our guests have access to the kitchen, sun room, computer, dvd player, stereo and cable tv.
We watch films every night in our large screen tv and sometimes we cook together in the evenings.
Interaction with Guests
We interact with the guests most of the time: during breakfast and lunch time, in the afternoons we could go to the market or the park together, sometimes we go to the football stadium for a match or watch a movie in the evenings. Every now and then, we sing in karaoke in our large-screen tv.
Avenida Simon Bolivar is the Avenue that connects Miraflores with the centre, going through Avenida Camacho.
Miraflores is quite a safe neighborhood, where Estadio Hernando Siles (Football stadium) and most of the big hospitals are located.
If you want to take a closer view, you should walk
along Avenida Busch, just behind the stadium, up to Plaza Villarroel, biggest square in La Paz, where you can find many restaurants, clubs, karaokes, etc.
To the centre of the town is just 10 minutes walk north, but if you want to go a little further away, like Iglesia San Francisco, you can either walk for 25 minutes or take a minibus (minivan) or a micro with a sign San Francisco (only 1B or 1.50 Bs)
Should you want to go to El Alto or Feria 16 de Julio in El Alto, take any bus with a sign "Ceja" (2.50 Bs).
To the south area of La Paz (Zona sur), take a bus or a trufi from Avenida Saavedra, just opposite the stadium. They have signs with these names: Obrajes, Calacoto, Los Pinos, etc.
From the same place you can take a bus to "El valle de la luna" (Moon Valley) or el zoológico (zoo), with a sign Mallasa, another neighborhood in the south of the city.
The guest has his or her own key for the room and the house. If they go out at night for a party, they should return no later than 2:00 am and they have to lock the door after that.
Let the family know if you will be away for more than one day.
Tell the family that you won't be for lunch at home if you decide to have lunch with your friend(s).
William came to meet us from our bus from Copacabana and waited an extra hour as the bus was late. Thank you William. He and his family were always warm and welcoming. we enjoyed eating lunch with the family on two occasions and can recommend Leticia's cooking which was delicious. Breakfast was very simple, on one occasion just bread and a hot drink. Our walking tour was an excellent introduction to the city. We felt we saw many things we would not have seen on our own. However the walk took six hours and at 70b an hour for 2 of us it worked out more expensive than we had expected. We suggested to William that it would be a good idea to have a list of all prices for one and more people clearly displayed. Our bedroom was large and had lovely rooftop views of the city. We would have preferred if the cats did not have access to the upper floor as our room sometimes had a catty smell. We had a number of Spanish lessons with William. These were very useful and we covered a lot of ground. William used a pen and paper instead of the white board when teaching. Subsequently I have found it very helpful to read over these notes which he gave us at the end of each lesson. At the end of our stay we really felt that we had had a positive experience of Bolivian family life. William and his family were always very flexible and helpful in many ways including; making phone calls regarding our future arrangements, helping us carry bags up and down the hill and helping us get taxis and buses. Highly recommended.
It was a good experience for us to stay with william an his family after many nights in hotels. Since we already spoke some spanish, talking to william ans his very charming wife leticia helped us a lot improving it. We enjoyed it very much to celebrate my birthday with the family and to visit valle de la luna with leticia. The room is big and has a great view of the city, although we found the price of 45chf per night for two persons relatively high for bolivian standards. The lunch and thr city tour with william were also nice. Just be aware that some services will cost you extra (e.g. lunch, pick up service, city walk, ask about the price!). William was always helpful with calling us a taxi, correcting our spanish ;) and keeping a part of our luggage while we flew to the jungle.
William, Letitia and their children are very friendly and welcoming people. They provided useful tips about the city, and were always very sociable, providing coffee and chats and asking about my excusions when I retuarned in the evening. The house has basic amenities, but suffers from a slightly musty atmosphere. It is located near the stadium, about a twenty minute walk from the central tourist zone.
I stayed for William and his family for 10 days. They are a very welcoming and energized family. I had a great time In La Paz and recommend anyone who wants to get to know the city by heart to go and stay with this family. William is very helpful, offering a city tour and places to go out. He is also a great spanish teacher!
An interesting experience apart from the usual traveller life in hostels etc. I enjoyed the time with the family, the meals together, and William was really helpful in so many cases!
My stay with William was great. It was comfortable, and his family were very welcoming, and the food is delicious!
I'd recommend taking the spanish lessons as well, they were excellent value and I learned a lot.
William and his family are wonderful. Leticia made us delicious Bolivian meals and William gave us a walking tour of the city for a great price. They were so helpful and assisted us in trying to find volunteer placements and cheap long-term lodging. The house was nice, only downside is the stair up at the La Paz altitude. Be prepared for the Bolvian hot shower, with an electric heater on the head. William and family will help you figure it out.

I like meeting people from all around the world and when I can or if they want to, I teach them Spanish through English or French.
I have taught Spanish and English for more than two decades in La Paz. since languages are my passion and I know through them we can build a bridge between cultures.
Every human being is different, so I enjoy discovering the different cultural aspects and similarities too.
We love to have guests in our house and treat them as part of the family, so they could feel at home. Therefore, we always make sure that they could get the most of this experience during their stay.
In my spare time I like to play soccer with friends or sometimes with our guests who are healthy enough to play at 3600 mts!!
I find Airbnb fantastic and very benefitial and useful both for guests and hosts, so each one should get a great cultural experience.
Feel very welcome in our house!!!
