This is one of the few places in the area with free parking.
Nestled at the end of a road in a forested hillside, Fenberger House & Dome is the perfect place to unwind for travelers, artists and yogis. Sleeping up to six people and decorated as a small gallery, it is ideal for working remotely, quiet vacations or for small group workshops and retreats. Guests can access the 10m diameter dome on the property which is perfect for yoga, meditation, dance and group workshops. Mochizuki onsen hot springs is a 5 minute walk from the house (no bath in property).
The space
The house has a generous living and dining space featuring a cozy sofa area and a unique selection of art from the Fenberger House collection. A wooden terrace deck is adjacent to this space. The kitchen is perfect for cooking, equipped with an industrial grade stove and cabinets. There are four bedrooms (two singles, a twin and a bunk bed room). The adjacent dome is a very special circular space equipped with an audio system and floor seating cushions.

The property does NOT have a bath/ shower.
Other things
Guests can also use the Dome next door, a 10m diameter Pacific Dome, perfect for group workshops, retreats, yoga, meditation or playing badminton. No pets allowed. Please note that that there is no wheelchair access. Guests must walk down a flight of 10 rock stairs to enter the property. The hosts live next door to the property.
NOTE ON DOME USE: The dome cannot be used on Monday and Wednesday mornings until 12pm, due to its use for ballet class. Thanks for your understanding.

Fenberger House is situated near the town of Mochizuki in Saku city, Nagano prefecture at an elevation of 800m. Sakudaira station on the shinkansen line is a twenty minute drive away, and the resort town of Karuizawa is a 45 minute drive away.
The town of Mochizuki lies on the Nakasendo Road, one of the old routes connecting Edo (present day Tokyo) to Kyoto. The area has been associated with horses since the Heian period (about 1000 years ago), and the land around Fenberger House used to be imperial horse pasture. Over the last thirty years the town has become known for its organic farming culture, pioneering natural food restaurants such as ‘Shokuninkan’, the exceptional Yushi Cafe, and the Tatsue Mingei Museum. There are several hot springs in the town, each with distinct mineral waters. Mochizuki is well situated for outdoor activities, being equidistant from the Asama mountain range and the Yatsugatake mountain range, both about a 45 minute car drive from the house.

望月の町は、江戸と京都を結ぶ古い街道のひとつ、中山道に面しています。平安時代（約1000年前）から馬にゆかりのある土地で、フェンバーガーハウスの周辺はかつて皇室の馬の放牧地だった。この30年間で、この町は有機農業文化、自然食レストランの草分け的存在である「職人館」、「Yushiカフェ」、「多津衛民芸館」などの文化的な場所が集まっています。望月町にはいくつかの温泉があり、それぞれに特徴のある鉱泉が湧き出しています。望月は、浅間連峰と八ヶ岳連峰の中間地点に位置し、どちらも車で45分ほどの距離にあります。

My work: Art Historian
Its been 16 years since I moved to Mochizuki from Tokyo with my family. This area has a wonderful energy, full of very down to earth people and a rich living cultural heritage. Our property is on a wooded hillside, far from the main roads, allowing us to hear the birds, insects and wind. I am also the Director of the local Tatsue Mingei Museum located a 5 minute drive from the property. Welcome.
