Our modern SF home has been recently remodeled and has 4 decks, a nice backyard with a fire-pit, and a huge kitchen and living area. Just a block and a half away from Golden Gate park and in the heart of one of SF's three Chinatowns.
The Room: Enjoy a very large and beautiful room (one queen one full sized bed) in our modern sunset house! There is a large window to let in sunlight and a large patio just outside the door. The room shares a bathroom with one other roommate; it is very clean, please help us keep it that way! The room is on the 4th floor of the house and bathroom is on the 3rd.
The house: The house was recently completely remodeled and is very large (especially for SF), 2 stories with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, large kitchen, living room, and dining room. You are welcome to use the kitchen, just clean up after yourself! There is also a fire pit in the backyard and 4 different decks throughout the house for getting some rays or taking in great views of the park and the bay. There is a washer and dryer in the unit which you are also welcome to use.
The neighborhood: The neighborhood is very active with tons of (mostly asian) restaurants within walking distance. It's also very quiet at night and safe; one block away from Golden Gate park.
We do not have parking but street parking is free.
There are three roommates, all in our twenties and we're super friendly. I'm from Texas, Ben is from Minnesota, and Yuri is from Japan, we all met in Japan. We enjoy skiing, surfing and hiking on the weekends but keep it pretty mellow during the week.
Private room, shared bathroom, deck, kitchen, living room, dining room.
Interaction with Guests
There is one other room in the house that we have on Airbnb so you will likely meet other guests as well as myself and my two roommates.
My roommates and I all work a lot and are generally pretty busy so we might not be around too much. If we are around feel free to say hi and hangout, we're very friendly :)
Vibrant Chinatown neighborhood (1 of 3 in SF) with lots of grocery and dining options.
Parking and Transportation
You definitely don't need a car to get around the city but in case you have one street parking is free and relatively easy to find, I can usually find a spot within 1 block. We're near tons of public transportation and it's super easy to get around. 1/2 block from N train for downtown/beach and the 28 going North and South. Also easy access to 71, 16, and 29.
From the airport it takes about 70 minutes via train ($10) and 25 minutes via taxi ($40). The best way is definitely to use Uber Pool though, right now only $15 from the airport to our house.
No smoking, no pets, no guests that aren't on the reservation, no shoes (there is a shoe rack at the front door). Please be quiet and respectful of the neighbors when entering the house. Feel free to use the kitchen, just please clean up after yourself and no food in the room (it attracts bugs)! We keep a pretty laid back and quiet house during the week but will occasionally have some friends over for beer and bbq on the weekend, feel free to join us!
This place was exactly how it was described. The room was clean, we were comfortable and the view from the deck was beautiful! There were extra towels in the room, which were definitely useful and were a nice addition.
Nick's place is perfect - simple, clean, comfortable, accessible and definitely sunny. The N trains and bus stop are just down the street, loads of shops and restaurants nearby. Unfortunate that we couldn't spend much time with Nick but Ben was very helpful with suggestions and recommendations about sights and places to hang. Will definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful time staying with Nick - the apartment was clean, modern, and comfortable as advertised, and very convenient to the Muni N Line. The neighborhood is quiet and laid back, the authentic San Francisco experience we were looking for. Nick and his roommates were friendly and welcoming, and accommodated our late checkout (we ended up picking up our bags at 4:30 the day we left). This was my first AirBnB hosts, and I would recommend the service to others based on my experience.
Nick was very prompt to respond to mails and getting into the apartment was easy. Room is comfortable and all well. The area is a little remote but perfectly safe and quiet.
The room is clean, near a small Chinatown with good Asian restaurants and supermarkets. The check in process is smooth and convenient. I recommend.
Nice and tidy place, everything clearly labelled. Really nice bathroom. Thanks Nick
Nick's place was exactly as advertised. It was very clean and he left clear instructions on how to get around the house. His place is very close to the Golden Gate State Park and several Asian restaurants. Overall Nick is an excellent host and you shouldn't hesitate to stay with him.
