About This Listing
Our modern SF home has been recently remodeled and has 4 decks, a nice backyard with a fire-pit, and a huge kitchen and living area. Just a block and a half away from Golden Gate park and in the heart of one of SF's three Chinatowns.
The Room: Enjoy a very large and beautiful room (one queen one full sized bed) in our modern sunset house! There is a large window to let in sunlight and a large patio just outside the door. The room shares a bathroom with one other roommate; it is very clean, please help us keep it that way! The room is on the 4th floor of the house and bathroom is on the 3rd.
The house: The house was recently completely remodeled and is very large (especially for SF), 2 stories with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, large kitchen, living room, and dining room. You are welcome to use the kitchen, just clean up after yourself! There is also a fire pit in the backyard and 4 different decks throughout the house for getting some rays or taking in great views of the park and the bay. There is a washer and dryer in the unit which you are also welcome to use.
The neighborhood: The neighborhood is very active with tons of (mostly asian) restaurants within walking distance. It's also very quiet at night and safe; one block away from Golden Gate park.
We do not have parking but street parking is free.
There are three roommates, all in our twenties and we're super friendly. I'm from Texas, Ben is from Minnesota, and Yuri is from Japan, we all met in Japan. We enjoy skiing, surfing and hiking on the weekends but keep it pretty mellow during the week.
Private room, shared bathroom, deck, kitchen, living room, dining room.
Interaction with Guests
There is one other room in the house that we have on Airbnb so you will likely meet other guests as well as myself and my two roommates.
My roommates and I all work a lot and are generally pretty busy so we might not be around too much. If we are around feel free to say hi and hangout, we're very friendly :)
Vibrant Chinatown neighborhood (1 of 3 in SF) with lots of grocery and dining options.
Parking and Transportation
You definitely don't need a car to get around the city but in case you have one street parking is free and relatively easy to find, I can usually find a spot within 1 block. We're near tons of public transportation and it's super easy to get around. 1/2 block from N train for downtown/beach and the 28 going North and South. Also easy access to 71, 16, and 29.
From the airport it takes about 70 minutes via train ($10) and 25 minutes via taxi ($40). The best way is definitely to use Uber Pool though, right now only $15 from the airport to our house.
No smoking, no pets, no guests that aren't on the reservation, no shoes (there is a shoe rack at the front door). Please be quiet and respectful of the neighbors when entering the house. Feel free to use the kitchen, just please clean up after yourself and no food in the room (it attracts bugs)! We keep a pretty laid back and quiet house during the week but will occasionally have some friends over for beer and bbq on the weekend, feel free to join us!
We didn't get to meet the host as we got in late and left early, but the place was just as described and everything was very clear about what we needed to do to get in. We were able to find some late night food nearby and all slept very well!
Our 2 nights in the room were quiet good but it is not the best quality/price airbnb in San Francisco! The room was clean but the place is like an hostel (parties during the week ends). It's very convenient to go to the center with the metro!
Nick and his housemate were more than welcoming!! Any questions or concerns I had, they were all quick to answer, either before my arrival or during my stay. Nicks description of his place/room was exactly on point. If that wasn't enough they had written post-its all thru out the house which was VERY much appreciated along w the night lights! The location was exactly as described as well. Many things in walking distance! Nick even had a very nice list of things (restaurants) nicely listed in the room along w touristy stuff. I would love to stay here again!
Really nice home, exactly as described. N tram line is litterally 2.3 minutes away, and will drive you directly into SF heart!
Quiet location, lots of small place to heat within 5 mn of walk, and some really good restaurant within 5 or 6 tram station. A list of nice place is also provided in rhe room, which contzin one of the best mecican place I ever ate in!
