You don't need another weekend away. You need one that changes how Monday feels.
The best kind of rest does not look like escape. It looks like returning to yourself. That is why we built this.
We're Dennis and Lacy. We've been coming to Asheville for over twenty years. We fell in love with this place when we lived in Charlotte and have been drawn back ever since. Eventually, coming back to other people's spaces was not enough. So we built our own.
9 forested acres. A natural spring at the base of the land. A home designed the way we actually wanted it. Bold. Intentional. Refined.
We're based in Texas right now. Our co-hosts Matt and Bruna take care of the property day to day and will treat you like family from the moment you reach out. We're relocating to North Carolina in the next couple of years, not to live on the property, but close enough to be part of it. We're building Haus 50 to be the kind of place we would want to stay ourselves. A place where real experiences take place.
WHAT YOU'LL FIND WHEN YOU ARRIVE:
Rooted in nature. Raised in intention.
That is the principle behind every decision in this home, from the furniture to the products on the shelf to what is waiting outside. We designed this space for the person who needs to reconnect deeply, restore what has been running low, and return home sharper. Everything here is in service of that.
• Coffee from Penny Cup, one of our favorite West Asheville roasters. A drip maker is provided. Leave it running and step outside with a cup before anyone else is moving.
• Plant-based bath and body products throughout the home.
• A fully stocked kitchen. Real pots, pans, bakeware, and the essentials. Cook a proper meal here or head down to West Asheville for dinner. Both are easy.
• High-speed Spectrum WiFi, 1 Gbps. More than enough to work from here if the week follows you. Built for the entrepreneur who needs to stay connected to what matters and also needs a real reason to close the laptop.
• A curated set of board games and cards. Chosen specifically for couples and groups who come to be present with each other again. Step away from the screen. That is what this place is for.
• Your dog is as welcome here as you are. We provide a leash, food and water bowls, toys, treats, and a dog bed. Asheville is one of the most dog-friendly cities in the country and there is no better place to bring them along.
• Flashlights available near the kitchen window for evening walks through the nine acres.
INSIDE:
Haus 50 is 800 square feet. A quiet, considered answer to every other rental in these mountains.
Open-plan layout. High ceilings. Bold design with warm light and materials that earn their place. Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout, every wall facing the trees.
The kitchen is full and flows into the living space. You cook, you're still in the room. Smart TV and sound system when you want them. Clean lines. Soft light. The kind of space that quiets things down from the moment you walk in.
We furnished the home with pieces from Poly and Bark and Article. Chosen because they feel the way this place should feel, calm, considered, and intentional. The mattresses and linens hold that same standard. We wanted the physical experience of being here to match what we had in mind when we built it.
Two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and blackout curtains. One full bathroom with a rain shower 2 vanity sinks and modern finishes throughout.
OUTSIDE:
This is where Haus 50 earns its rate.
Step out to the grounding forest view private deck. A wood pellet Traeger grill waits for a real outdoor cook. The kind that fills the whole property with the smell of wood smoke and a proper meal. Seating around it for the whole group.
Private hot tub under the tree canopy. Fire pit with firewood already split and stacked before you arrive.
When was the last time you looked up and counted hundreds of stars? Out here, far enough from the city that the sky actually opens up, that is what a clear night in the hot tub looks like. It stays with you long after you leave.
You rest now. You come back sharper.
9 forested acres with a natural spring at the base of the land. Walk to the top of the property after dark. From up there and from the left side of the home, the entire Asheville skyline comes alive. City lights against dark mountains, forest all around you, silence in between. It is one of those views that makes the whole thing make sense. Nature and the city, both at once, exactly where you are standing.
